LET'S BRING IT BACK AROUND - THAT TIME I GOT REINCARNATED AS A SLIME // Episode 24.9

Why do some people recommend these episodes and some don't? Some people are completely on the side of just watching the main story. At the other extreme are those who think even recaps are useful. I am personally near the latter end. I think in most cases, it's that some people think an episode with any recap at all is a waste of time, and they don't want you to suffer through having to watch it. I tend to believe that any recap that has anything you could construe as new information adds valuable depth to one's understanding of the show. Also, honestly, having seen other reactors, I know that some people could use a refresher more than they think they do. So maybe people should watch recaps, even if they don't post their reaction to it, so the commenters don't need to remind them. However, out of all the recaps, I do have a strong feeling that everyone should watch Veldora's Journal 2, which follows Episode 12 of Season 2 (Ep. 36.5). While definitely mostly recap, it has some really interesting bits or lore, and character development. ................................................................... That was funny how you didn't notice it was a dub for a few minutes. Lol. ................................................... As far as the order in which to watch OVA's. For Slime, I think it's best to just watch everything in the order they came out. Maybe that's not strictly the chronological order according to the plot, but certain first introductions have a better impact if you watch them in release order. The surprise factor is enhanced. The studio knows what you are supposed to know and what you aren't. ........................................................................................ Some shounen do stretch battles out for a whole season, and after several seasons of this pattern, it can get predictable. In Slime, battles don't take up all the time. The biggest problem is that they tend to be inclusive for non-battle episodes, then go on to omit a lot of detail about what's really going on in a battle, which somehow makes Rimuru and his allies give the impression, mostly erroneous, that it's all easy for them.

Okay, back after watching. Here's the deal on the OVAs/ Slime Diaries: they take place more or less before the start of season 2. The movie Scarlet Bond is after season 2 before 3. I have never once found them to have spoilers. They do add context for things that come later and give you more adventures with the kids and a good look at life in Tempest. I'm aware some people are hypersensitive to anything that gives context, even opening / closing songs so they categorize them as 'spoilers'. Personally I love them and just watch straight through. I always figure there probably isn't anyone in Japan that skips the into / outro or episodes, so why should I? My advice, you do you. You guys wanna watch, sweet! I'll probably watch them twice w/ you. πŸ˜† πŸ©·πŸ’›πŸ©΅
