Yuuki is the Grand Master of the Adventures Guild not the Headmaster of the school.

I think the words "Wise One" is just an alternate English translation for "Great Sage". I think the Japanese is the same. I went back to check, and they wrote out the word as WotW was saying it. It is exactly the same written word, 大賢者, they just used a different reading for the characters. Daikenja vs. Okashikomono. A completely different explanation is given for what is happening.

Compared to his first appearance, I'm starting to like Lord Carrion more over time :D

I am going to use your comment as a basis again because it gives me a format to start with. I agree with almost everything you said, and you covered a lot of what I wanted to cover. 1,3. Words of the World is an executor of the rules of the world. In a way, Great Sage was assigned to Rimuru, or was given shape for Rimuru, by the WotW, among all his other Skills. WotW controls the world, but it isn’t self-aware. It just follows its original programming. Don’t get too hung up on the AI similarities, though. I use the word AI myself to describe it, but really it goes beyond the simplistic model of a computer. When certain predetermined conditions are met, the WotW automatically responds by giving a person a Skill or allows for the evolution of a person. In many cases it will announce the change to the affected people in the world. Two times when Words of the World was mentioned explicitly, was when WotW announced to Rimuru’s people that the Harvest Festival will begin and that they would be getting gifts. The other was when Shogo commented that WotW had told him he received the Unique Skill Survivor in exchange for Kirara’s soul. That’s pretty much it. But the WotW showed up many times during those episodes, starting with giving Rimuru the Skill Merciless, then announcing he had met the conditions for evolution to Demon Lord. Then when the actual Harvest Festival occurred, WotW announced to Rimuru (or Great Sage in lieu of Rimuru’s conscious mind) that he would be a new race and there were new Skills and resistances. Then Great Sage interjected, creating a dialog between Great Sage and WotW. Great Sage asked WotW to allow her to evolve, and WotW responded. Great Sage kept trying, then discarded Degenerate, then requested Beelzebub to evolve, discarding Merciless. During this whole sequence, there was a back-and-forth between Great Sage/Raphael and WotW. When Great Sage became Raphael, you can actually detect a change in the voice’s quality. WotW sounds more mechanical than Raphael does. If I have to say so myself, I explained very well what was going on in Raphael’s “mind” back on Season 2 Episode 11’s comment section. It’s very important information regarding what Raphael is to Rimuru, among other things. So what does WotW respond to? The basic qualifications, and great desire. Generally speaking, the purer and stronger the desire, the stronger the Skill. A strong soul is needed for a Unique Skill and even more so for an Ultimate Skill. And of course WotW mediates the arrival of a new person into the world. But it is not self-aware. But to get back to Clayman’s awakening. Raphael had predicted this would happen, or rather planned it, because they wanted to release the souls Clayman was holding onto. It isn’t that clear what exactly happens to these souls, but at the very least some part of them are converted to energy to fuel Clayman’s evolution. But his awakening isn’t complete, he doesn’t become a True Demon Lord. All the conditions had not been met. He wanted to have power but it is only temporary, but it was enough, he thought, to accomplish something. 4. Guy knew all along Milim couldn’t be controlled. Clayman didn’t have the Ultimate Skill to do it. This is why it’s important to take account of who has them. Veldora saw it too. Remember Veldora has an Ultimate Skill of his own, Faust, Lord of Investigation. The others in the room should have known, but for some reason they didn’t think of it. At Guy’s meeting with Leon, someone asked could Milim be under someone’s control and Guy replied even one as smart as he is couldn't figure out the mind of someone like Milim, but said maybe she was thinking Rimuru was something worth paying attention to, because she wasn’t smart but she was perceptive. Basically, Milim has a plan. 5. Remember that the clowns were working with Yuuki. When Kazalim was given a body in the form of Kagali, Laplace welcomed her as the president of the Moderate Harlequin Alliance. But since Kagali was calling Yuuki “Boss”, he acknowledged Yuuki as “Boss” too. 6. New topics. Shion was using her new Skill Master Chef in the battle with Clayman. Having figured out the weakest point to hit (Optimal Action subskill), she was able to repeat that action thus guaranteeing the outcome (Guaranteed Outcome subskill). Also with the Skill Perfect Memory, which she received as one of the resurrected, there is a backup copy of her memories in, I think iirc Rimuru, so that if her brain was destroyed, her memories can still be restored. Because of this, she can’t be mind controlled. Along with the ability to resurrect and heal her body, which all the others who came back also received, she is now essentially unkillable. The Skill is the gift given during the Harvest Festival to carry out the wishes of Rimuru, which was the main reason Rimuru wanted to become a Demon Lord. Gifts are the manifestations of Rimuru’s and his people’s desires at that time. 7. Remember Rimuru stole Hinata’s sword in the Glutton that he formed. That sword, remember, damages the spiritual, not the material, body, thus “Soul Eater”. Incidentally, the sword’s name is Moonlight.

myst0dreamer

I can’t believe you brought up Dragon Ball literally minutes before that kamehameha 😂😂

Kcosta

Remember Great Sage was a Unique skill meaning absolutely no one else can simultaneously have that skill, as the name implies its unique to that person. After Great sage became Raphael it became an ultimate skill, but they function the same way but at a higher level of power, no one else can ever have the same ultimate skill unless its current user dies.

OmegaAlpha 83

21:28 if you look closely you can spot Dragon Ball in the credits.

OmegaAlpha 83

They go over the Great Sages evolution so quickly in the anime, that many people don't notice that the great sage evolves twice during the Harvest Festival. Great Sage > Wise One, then ultimately uses it's "Gift" from Rimurus' evolution to forcefully evolve from Wise One(Unique Skill) > Raphael(Ultimate Skill).

Scerician

The production team paid all the royalties to the owners to get to use those fight phrases. 21:58 Ten stars shining brightly in the sky representing the 10 Demon Lords.

Hhound42

Exactly, and I’m pretty sure it was words of the world that sounded to all of Rimurus subordinates just before his awakening. Because they were about to receive gifts too. I think Raphael only interacts with Rimuru, aside from them speaking directly to Benimaru and Diablo when in control of the body.

PotterBrony

SURPRISE! 🎉🎉🎉 I did say the last episode was the TAME part of Walpurgis. I wouldn't lie to y'all. 😇 1. We did tell you Clayman was an overconfident arrogant prick, he wasn't even awakened. Even the other characters in the show kept implying that he was in over his head. Of course he didn't have the ability to control one of the strongest and oldest Demon Lords. As you've now seen he is the actual definition of 'a tool', in all senses of the word. 😂 His awakening at the end is because he appealed to the Words of the World. As Rimuru said it was planned. Very sneaky of Rimuru to corner Clayman and make him release the soul portions he'd been carrying around. Also Chris is right, Rimuru has to make a statement to the others present. It could also be said that he wants to be sure others understand what he'll do to them if they fuck with his people the way Clayman did. 2. John you are so right! I will never be able to watch this now without thinking about the animal VAs just looking at the animal designs and screaming. 🤣 Always love jealous Ranga. It's so character true for a dog. That poor kitsune, it just wanted to be free. It'll be fun to see how that dynamic shakes out later. Also yeah Chris, the animal Shizu's friend had was a baby fox. Although I maintain it looked like a pokemon. Like an Evee and a Mew had a baby. 🥰 3. I'm sure many will tell you, but Chris is right. Raphael and Words of the World are two separate entities. It has not been explained like at ALL in the anime. The LNs do get into it. I'm not sure if they just felt it would take too long to explain or portray in the anime. Either way I agree that it makes it confusing to watch sometimes. The voice and screen we saw during Rimuru's death and during his Demon Lord Awakening was the Words of the World. It was acknowledging his wants and preferences and initiating the changes needed. Anyone with enough will and the right conditions can access the WotW. If you remember even Shogo, the jerk from the group that killed all of Rimuru's people earlier in the season, appealed to the WotW by killing the girl as a sacrifice to gain the ability to regenerate quickly during his fight with Geld. When Great Sage was first created it copied the sound of WotW. That's why its the same VA. I can't remember at the moment Great Sage's reasoning, but that's why they sound the same. So the viewer has to be discerning while watching. 🤷‍♀️ 4. Milim being tricksy and false is still one of the funniest twists in anime history to me. No one catches it the first time around, but all the hints are there for us to put it together. Guy even flatout said that as long as Milim did it of her own volition it was allowed, because using mind control tactics at Walpurgis was off-limits, that they needed to be able to make impartial judgments if necessary. Lol, even Veldora and Raphael tried to tell Rimuru. Maybe one day he'll remember to listen before he assumes. Milim snatching that hated necklace off like it's some cheap crap from a gumball machine will never get old to me. Her just staring Clayman down like, 'Bitch you thought!' is a chef's kiss. Her self control HAS improved since meeting Rimuru. Before she just would have liquefied Clayman and moved on. It's actually impressive that she managed to fool as many as she did for so long considering as Ramiris said Milim should be called The Demon Lord of Absurdity. Even Guy told Leon that he couldn't understand the mind workings of a fool when speaking about Milim's behavior, and considered that a gap in his abilities. Too bad she didn't take the DAMAGE she inflicted into consideration while playing her game of pretend, poor Carrion and his kingdom. She even made a valley out of two of his mountains. 😭 So all in all, getting better, but she still obviously has a lot of maturing to do. Which I always assumed had mostly to do with the death of her parents and sibling. She was pretty much left alone at a very young age with super powers. That's certainly enough to screw anyone up. I don't really count her Dragon Faithful followers because they exist to follow her commands not really be her friends or raise her. 5. The Yuki storyline will continue, but it's not a fast fix. Rimuru wants ALL the information and to be sure that he doesn't rush into a situation that could backfire on him and his people. So going forward you may think that he's forgotten or it got dropped, but I pinkie promise it's not forgotten, just building up. 6. I told you way back, say hello to Weebdora! 🤣🤣🤣 Rimuru's inadvertent influence on the culture of Tensura is as hysterical as it is everlasting. 💗 That's all the notes I have guys. This was a great reaction and it's only going to be more fun from here! 🩷🩵💛

ConnersHund

Yeah, the voice Clayman heard was Words of the World, it happens to everyone when a new skill or evolution occurs. Raphael simply is using that voice, but is its own being.

PotterBrony

It was during the battle with Falmuth, also. That's also what happened when the dude took the other otherworlder's skill.

Properties The World Language is a phenomenon present in all places, even in material worlds without magic such as Earth or isolated dimensions like the inside of Infinity Prison. Those who hear the World Language are also capable of understanding its meaning as if it were spoken in their native tongue.

Cerulean Spectre

Great Sage utilizes the World Language to speak but this skill great sage can only be heard by rimuru and the words of the world can be heard by everyone

Cerulean Spectre

world of the worlds aka World Language, Functions : When certain phenomenon occur — such as the acquisition of skills, racial evolution, the obtainment of a demon lord seed or hero's egg, the awakening of a demon lord or chosen hero, and the activation of some skills — the World Language will echo within the consciousness of all related parties. Sometimes it is heard by a single individual, while in other instances it is broadcasted to a large group of individuals within the range of the source phenomenon. Skills also have a built-in functionality that allows for the utilization of the World Language, resulting in Yes/No prompts being given to their users in relation to the skill’s activation.
