I swear, i think that the gods there must be bored and are just playing some game there. because even the dad just coming back right when all of this stuff is happening is just strange.

The web novel is first, it became a manhwa next and the anime is based on both to my knowledge so we could get manhwa or web novel only content

I totally agree with you about Iron. He was a terrible leader and got what was coming to him. If not in this gate it would've been another probably. I'm super stoked for this newest episode Saturday!!

The Heck Podcast

I mentioned it in my comment of this episode, I have very little empathy for Iron. Yes, the shock of what he went through and basic starvation is a very good reason for his actions when he finds the lower ranks, but Chris was right, it was all a byproduct of his own making. The moment they were inside he decided to kill half of the company. Sure he wasn't doing it himself, but if Jinwoo wasn't who he was all of them would have been dead that day. Iron knew that. He was responsible for every hunter there, being the 'leader', he couldn't even pretend to be able to account for his whole company for even a minute. A leader who doesn't even attempt to use every tool at their disposal isn't a leader. He had no real clue what any of them would do in combat, it being all of their's first gate. The only thing he knew was their rank, and he decided they were disposable. My heart doesn't bleed for anyone in a position of power that purposefully uses it to harm those in their care. What's really interesting about him and the current leader of the strike team Jinwoo is on is that we had heard of them before we saw them in action. Remember in season 1 when they were showing the women having coffee? One of them was the long hair White Tiger Guild hunter that sided with Jinwoo in this episode and one of the others was one of the female hunters of the team he's currently with. They both talked about the training they were doing and the male hunters that wanted to be strike team leaders. They had both expressed then in that episode exactly what type of hunters the men were. They pointed out that physically he was strong BUT mentally Iron didn't have the skills to be a good leader. As they said it in the episode 'BUT' that little word tells them everything. Meanwhile, the other man had the capacity to grow into a strong flexible leader. Oh look, here we many episodes later with both predictions coming true. 😯 I am definitely enjoying the intricate storyline weaving they are doing, it makes my English major soul glow. 🥰 Now, as for your question of which I'd consider canon: My first choice is always going to be the original author, the person who actually came up with the story and then spent untold hours plotting it out and writing is for our consumption. The others are technically approved by the company that owns the product rights, like a publishing company owns the rights to the books it prints, however in the end they are all pulling and manipulating the original author's work and twisting their intent to their own gains. So yeah, for me true canon is always with the original. Not to say that I'm not enjoying the hell out of this show! It's one of the best new anime I've picked up in long time. I'm having a blast just letting it all unfold. 🩷💛🩵
