So what they were saying was not reincarnation but rather Self-Recreation, which is a mistranslation of Self-Regeneration. Basically it's a similar ability to what Rimuru had prior to his evolution.

To me, the introduction of the fact that guns exist in that world has always been a huge deal, because we haven't seen anything of the sort yet, not even cannons iirc. It means that someone from our world either got summoned to that world or accidentally stepped through the veil (or, and I don't know if it's possible, has found a way to willingly go to that world), and had knowledge on how to make guns (or has a skill that lets them create something from our world). And the merchant, Damrada, seemed surprised that guns were known in the West, meaning that they must originate from the East, so it's possible that the Eastern Empire is either led by, or works with, that Otherworlders who brought guns (that or only Cerberus is supposed to know about guns, in that case the leader of Cerberus could be the Otherworlder. These are all speculation on my part though, as I don't know anything beyond Season 3 (I was spoiled on some stuff that will happen later because I decided to search a list of Rimuru's powers and it was based off of the manga, but none of it involved what I speculated on and I've forgotten all that I've been spoiled about anyway)

First, great reaction, once again. I’m loving it. I made a mistake last episode when I said that the Master Rooks were also called the Crusaders. Actually, Paladins = Holy Knights = Crusaders. This is a force directly under the Church. The Three Battlesages lead the Master Rooks. They also control the Temple Knights, which are lower level troops stationed in countries that accept them. Their job is to protect against monsters. Both of these groups are under the country Lubelius. Lubelius is ruled by an emperor, whom we know is Louis Valentine (but most in the story don’t know this). The Holy Knights have no say over the Temple Knights. Some information about life in Lubelius was mentioned a couple of episodes ago. The goal is to have happy people, and one way they supposedly accomplish this is strict equality. They avoid the ambition that would lead to inequality by having the Church run things. One thing they touch upon in Tensura is, which is the best form of government and/or economic system for people to live under? One suggestion is Lubelius. This is why Hinata supports Luminus. There have been mentions of Rimuru's people handling things without his direction. There are also a couple of times in this season where Rimuru tries to show his confidence in various subordinates who encounter obstacles. In contrast, if it weren't for Rimuru, and only Rimuru, exerting control over certain individuals, disaster would have struck by now. Even if it was Rimuru who created the situation in the first place. That is, controlling the uncontrollable. Herding cats. Rimuru named them, summoned them, and released them, and if Rimuru wasn't who he was, some of these would be set loose to create havoc across the world. He did these things in ignorance, but even when he had a doubt, he pushed it aside, and went through with it, even if he was cautious initially. The thing that went awry in Diablo's plot, besides his being blamed for Reyhiem’s death, is that it led the surrounding countries to send in the Temple Knights as backup for King Edward. A demon causing trouble would lead to the church getting involved, and some countries are more religious than others. Blumund and Dwargon were supposed to be using their influence to keep surrounding nations from getting involved, which goes back to the meeting before Walpurgis in the gazebo. Rimuru has a poor conception of the effect of him showing weakness, sometimes he’s too conciliatory. That is an important statement of philosophy from Rimuru: that all of this is pointless if any of you die. This is completely understandable. Look at what he went through to bring all his people back. He changed himself, he took on the world's powers, both human and monster, all to create a foundation of protection for his people. He is still pretty forgiving, lackadaisical, and nonchalant, and he may say his goal is to create a society where everyone can be smiling and comfortable, but it's all to protect them. He doesn't even want to kill others, because it still comes back to what it takes to achieve his goals. So, sometimes he doesn't fight. But it's strategic. He isn't being weak or merciful. It's just that the ramifications of fighting will hamstring his overall progress. Remember that when you wonder why Rimuru seems to be holding back. However, once you are really, truly confirmed to be an Enemy, Rimuru acts decisively. Enemy means: you hurt my people. Even then, it would be paradoxical for Rimuru to let his people die over it, unless absolutely necessary to protect. In this episode there's a sign that Shion is indeed learning something. A long way from perfect, but taking some incremental steps. One of the great things about Slime is that characters grow. The Yomigaeri are the group that Rimuru brought back from the dead. As a result of the process, so that it won't happen again, or maybe it was the gift that was given to them as a part of the Demon Lord evolution that actually facilitated their resurrection, they were given certain Skills, Perfect Memory and Self Recreation (not Reincarnation; alternative names for both Skills exist). Shion also shares these Skills. Their memories are stored in their souls (or maybe in Rimuru's soul). If their brain is damaged they can restore its contents. The body can instantaneously be healed via Self-Recreation Skill. The Kurenai were once a group of Hobgoblins who admired Benimaru and wanted to follow his path. I’m not sure exactly when it happened, but it was probably because of Rimuru’s Harvest Festival. They evolved into Ogres because of this desire. Apparently ogres are one step up the evolutionary ladder from Hobgoblins. Saare is part elf. Despite his looks, he is strong and highly skilled. Until Hinata came along, he was the leader of all the Master Rooks. He may seem opposed to Hinata, and he does have a bit of a grudge that she beat him, but he respects her for her strength and realizes they have a common commitment and goal. Saare is the short, white-haired dude. The Rozzo's are the family that make up or control the Five Elders. What they care about is economic control of the West. Falmuth is being removed from that, and Rimuru is the threat. You should remember Granville Rozzo, Mariabel Rozzo, Damrada and Cerberus, and Glenda Attley. The other Battlesages are involved but they are doing it unwittingly. Here’s an example of when fundamentally the “bad guys’” (for lack of a better term) goals are in opposition, but for specific, short-term goals, they can work together, or at least use each other. Cerberus (represented by Damrada, who is also an Eastern merchant) is a criminal organization based in the East, but has extensions in the West. The East as an entity, however, has imperialistic designs on the West. This has been true for at least hundreds of years, and everybody knows it, even the common people. Nevertheless for now both groups oppose Hinata, as one both too strong and devoted to justice, and Tempest (specifically Rimuru), for his country's inroads into and potential influence on the West, not just politically, but mainly economically. Also, there seems to be factions within the Church. To think about: who started that rumor about Diablo? Yuuki has already stated his ultimate goal aloud, I think more than once, in the anime. Yes, it's complicated, but it will become clearer. In my mind, this is the politics arc. Besides having to do with the Church, it's also about Tempest’s relationship with the West (humans). But the Church is the key to the West. Beyond the West is the East, and we are slowly introducing them into the mix.

Once again we see Rimuru in his 'overworked dad' state of mind. 😅 Obviously he trusts his people and is taking the possible threats seriously, but he's clearly trying to wrangle them all into NOT simply committing genocide to fix their problems. Shion and Veldora being the most excited for that kind of solution... 'Just hit them until they stop moving!' is pretty much how they approach any problem. 😂 - Love seeing Diablo so touched to still be trusted with his plan. Gotta imagine the demon realm isn't the most forgiving. - I'm always happy to see more of the characters making their debut. Rimuru has such a large nation at this point it's not shocking he doesn't remember every face or ally he has at his disposal. IMHO Gobwa's design was pretty cool. - I know Albis and Suphia do actually want to help, but let's be honest, they definitely also just want a good fight. 😆 - Rimuru throwing shade at Raphael... yeah, I'm sure that's totally safe and won't come up ever again. 🙄 - This series is so gripping to me BECAUSE it treats it's world/nation building realistically. There's never just ONE scumbag in the world, life is full of them, and they all want power. The fact that Fuse has written such a sprawling tapestry of players and deceit warms my heart. It reminds me of the old action movie argument: the fight scenes were annoying because no group is ever just going to wait patiently one at a time to fight someone. This media is about world building at its founding, they are GOING to have a lot of people wanting them to fail and none of them are just going to wait around. The conflicting schemes running at the same time is exciting to watch because you just don't know who's plan is actually going to work, and which one is going to fail miserably. - So as a head count we now have: 1. Hinata's group 2. The group following her 3. The robed dicks 4. The knights heading towards Falmouth 5. Falmouth's new king and mercenaries 6. The Rozzos 7. The spy from The East 8. Yuuki and his creepy harlequins All of them with their own agendas, and all of them with their own plans... yes, I do believe that Tempest might be a bit swamped at the moment - John and Chris, your ability to sometimes unintentionally hit an incredibly important plot point on the head is almost uncanny. My eyes actually popped when you started making your points at the end of the reaction. You two are damn good at your job! 🤩 - Sooo excited for you to get further into Tensura! 🩷💛🩵

I wrote about some of this last episode. There are other awakened Demon Lords besides Guy and Milim. Besides Rimuru, there are two more. Guy and Milim are the stuff of legends, which is why they know about their history, status and strength. They are the ones known to have engineered destruction and have thus taken in many human souls. Luminus thinks Rimuru is also awakened because of the number of souls he has taken in, but she believes the process is ongoing. She said that awakening happens across many different levels, so not every awakening is equal. The secret to Rimuru's strength predated his awakening and even his becoming a Demon Lord Seed, however. It's (1) naming. He gains connections and access to their skills. They support his strength. He has named many more people than anyone else probably in history, his people evolve to a greater degree than in most namings, and they continue to evolve. (2) The speed at which this is occurring. (3) The Skills Rimuru has that reinforce all these connections and power/skill sharing. All Rimuru's Skills have at least something to do with connection to his people. ....... Now Rimuru is most concerned about Diablo being stronger than him. (He still doesn't know what Diablo is!)

In Slime, the story is made by not just one villain doing something bad, but basically many different parties having different goals and conflicting with other's goals which makes it a complex web of events and villains that make the story more interesting than just a 2D type of "I'm the hero and you're the villain" type of anime you usually see

For what you said at the end, my understanding is that Rimuru's strength is kind of unprecedented. They said in the previous episode he's in the same league as Guy and Milim (the only other awakened demon lords) and those two are totally off the charts. So most are underestimating him both because they expect he's probably more around Clayman's level of strength, and because Tempest pushed out that false narrative about Veldora being the one to kill Falmuth's army. It's sort of like in Overlord where Jircniv underestimated how many Ainz could kill with a single spell. It just defies logic so nobody even thinks of it. Even Rimuru himself is also constantly underestimating his own strength, he's always way more careful than he needs to be. My friend told me that in the light novel, at least before walpurgis, he thought Benimaru was stronger than him.
