DIABLO IS UNDEFEATED! | That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime - Episode 9 | Season 3

no spoilers they haven't gotten to that reveal yet with the maids

Cerulean Spectre

Diablo is one of the primordial demons(there are 7 of them you seen Guy, Diablo, Violet, the two you've seen at the ending of the special) (basically first demons to ever exist, and the older the demon the stronger they are.), he fought with Guy Crimson a ton of times before on a similar level before he got bored of it. He would be the 2nd strongest demon in existence(with the exception of possibly white). Btw make sure to check the reporters and keep them in mind. EDIT: Which makes it even more amazing that Rimiru was able to name him.

OMG, that has to be the best scene in an anime. She ran so fast. hahahahahaha. that was great. lol

No one has mentioned this so far here, but most people believe that Raine, one of Guy's assistants, the blue-haired one, was among the journalists at Falmuth. It wasn't in the other sources, but it does appear pretty obvious. Why? Probably just to gather info. 1. The Church is more interested in getting rid of the Demon than interfering in Falmuth's internal affairs, but Hinata had ordered them to do nothing except to make sure the common people were unaffected by the war. But the Seven Days Clergy (Seven Illuminaries) had been at work since Hinata left to change the actions in Falmuth as well. 2. One of the problems with this Season is that unless you have a good head for details and a good memory, it is still hard to figure out the bad guys as much as you need to. You need to make some big leaps of logic. It made me wonder whether it was intentional that we are still confused as to who’s who even though a lot of the information is there. Every reactor that I saw didn’t put 2 and 2 together. It was difficult since the info is sketchy. The thing is, they do tell you a lot of what you need to know, just that no one remembers it. I’ll be interested to see how you do with this!

1 . The Falmuth Army is what was left over in Falmuth after all the decent troops were killed in Tempest. Not the greatest. 2. Rimuru's army were under orders not to kill anyone who was uninvolved or weren't attacking them. That's why Ranga was "playing" with them. He got a little carried away, he overestimated his opponents' durability, and he actually thought the enemy was "playing" too. The only thing left out from what was in the novel is that Ranga was throwing the people into a pile with his paws, he was using them as chew toys, and Grigori was a bit more beaten-up than they showed. It would have been funnier with all that. Oh well. A minor disappointment, because I had been looking forward to that scene. Ranga had been warned ahead of time not to go overboard or Rimuru would be angry. 3. Back to the beginning. The guy with the long ponytail was Damrada, one of the Eastern merchants. Two episodes ago, he was speaking with the Rozzo family. He was identified as not only a merchant but also as one of the three heads of the underground group Cerberus, based in the East, with tendrils in the West. For that reason, the Rozzo's couldn't offend them too much. But they had gone over the plan: ideally to get rid of obstacles Rimuru and Hinata, because they were a threat to each of them in different ways. The Rozzo's didn't want Falmuth to be essentially taken over by a Demon Lord (i.e., losing it to a non-human), and they didn't like what Rimuru was doing all by himself with his country in Tempest. At this point, the East was just trying to make money off war. So Damrada’s assignment here was to disrupt Rimuru's plan in Falmuth. They spread the rumor that a demon had killed Reyhiem to induce the Church troops (Temple Knights) in the neighboring countries to intervene in Falmuth’s Civil War. Damrada's started to believe that the Demon in question wasn't a mere Archdemon, because he knew Razen had lost to him, and Razen wouldn't be beaten by a mere Archdemon. Unless the Archdemon is very old. The East knew more about demons from their research. Anyhow, Damrada had a hunch that maybe sticking around wouldn't be good for his health after all because of this. 4. Everyone wants to get HInata out of the way because she is too concerned with justice and would stand in the way of any corruption. That would mean corrupt leaders, war mongers from the Eastern merchants, or criminals like Cerberus extending their reach. Hinata is the most physically (as opposed to economically or politically) powerful human in the West at the moment. But she does have a lot of political power and influence with the Church behind her. She is also admired by the people. Killing her would weaken the Church as well, as a force for good. The Church as corrupt? It wouldn’t be as big a problem. The Church is more interested in getting rid of the Demon than interfering in Falmuth's internal affairs, but Hinata had informed them to do nothing except to make sure the common people were unaffected. But the Seven Days Clergy (Seven Illuminaries) had been at work since Hinata left to change the actions in Falmuth as well. 5. Rimuru and Diablo’s plan has been to get the new King Edward’s faction fighting against the former King Edmaris’s faction, which is supported by Youm’s troops. The plan had been fine until there were higher numbers on King Edward’s side than expected, not to mention than Diablo, and by extension, Rimuru, were being framed as Reyhiem's killer. Damrada was talking about the plan and the rumors they had spread in the beginning. They believed that Rimuru was too busy with Hinata’s approach that he wouldn't split his army to send reinforcements to Youm. This was incorrect, so that was naive of them. Glenda is working as a sort of double agent. 6. Remember after that battle both Hinata and Rimuru are in a weakened state. Then the Seven Days show up on cue. Accidentally? I don't think so. Also, so far, Rimuru has lost Belzebuth, one of his main assets in battle, and holy magic is not his forte (meaning, he doesn’t have it). Generally speaking, Rimuru and the other monsters and majin are made of magicules, the more evolved, the more magicules. Holy Magic is at the very least incompatible with magicules. (There are some exceptions, though.) He just sacrificed the defense of Beelzebub because of a Holy attack. Now what can he do in the face of a future Holy attack? The spiritual particles that make up in Holy magic are not magicules.

I am going to divide my comments into separate posts. This one will be about demons and Diablo. A. For Demons, the terminology is not what they use in the official English translation of the light novels. Beginning with Archdemons (there is more if you go into Lesser Demons and Greater Demons): 1. Archdemons-- get and maintain one's magicule capacity to the maximum. Demons have a set limit. 2. Demon Lord (meaning Demon Lord Seed or Factor)-- maintain that maximum level for 2000 years without dying. Can now manifest Demon Lord Presence (this is Lord's Ambition). They use the word “Maoh” in the original, which they have been using all along. 3. Daemon Lord (aka Demon Peer) . A trigger is necessary to evolve to this level. At least in Diablo's case, his naming brought him here. He says there's not much difference between 2 and 3. Here they use “Demon Lord”, yes the English words, in the original. It's why they had to find a way to distinguish between them. These are further distinguished into levels by various noble titles. 4. True Demon Lord (awakened Demon Lord, Devil Lord). It's the souls. This is Guy's level. Main thing to remember is that the species evolutions (Archdemon + trigger → Daemon Lord, Demon Peer) are separate and apart from the Demon Lord (Seed, Factor, Class, Maoh → True, Awakened, Devil Lord). However, there seem to be dependencies between them. Primordial demons, being old, for one thing, jump ahead of everyone else, though. Also, I am not sure whether it’s being #2 or #3 that represents the ability of a demon to exceed the normal magicule cap that all demons have. Diablo is both #2 and #3. Blanc is definitely a #2, but probably not a #3. Violet is the same. Guy is #3 and #4. However, Guy and Diablo fight on an even level. I don’t think that means Diablo is ultimately stronger than Guy, if he ever attained #4. But Diablo is an oddball who thinks a battle is no fun if he’s stronger than his opponent, so he purposely handicaps himself when necessary. It is part of the reason he has been a bit of a loner up until how. Meeting Rimuru has made him think it might be time to finally develop himself and get stronger. I don’t know if attaining a physical body has any effect on evolutions, I don’t think so. The trigger I talked about that is required to get to Demon Peer (aka etc.) level is naming, or sometimes if one’s superior has evolved, you, the troops, so to speak, also evolve. Here, if the leader is raised to True Demon Lord, a Greater Demon or Archdemon rank-and-filer will also be raised to Daemon Lord (Peer). This is one case where the lines of evolution cross paths. Note: True strength depends on age as well, within Archdemons. Couldn’t find the chart, but ancient, for example, doesn’t just mean old, it is a term meaning older than….. 3000? Years (I’m not sure). But Primordials are older still. Old means, undefeated for that long. (There’s some contradictory info here. It is possible for a demon to have a few magicules knocked off when losing a battle, and even to devolve. But what exactly constitutes losing?) B. The Demon Hunters had counted on his usual tactics that had been proven to be able to take down an Archdemon. Most demons were arrogant and walked into situations relatively unprotected, especially their material body, which was usually their weak point. It was fairly simple to just destroy the physical body using natural, non-magical, forces, and the demon would then be forced to return to the demon world. They didn’t work on Diablo. His attitude and strength were completely different. Diablo has Resist Natural Elements and Cancel Melee Attack (aka Physical Attack, Nullification), among other tolerances. The main two people fighting Diablo each realized something that made them finally recognize the threat that Diablo is. The Hunter, who is from the East, where they have done research into the nature of Archdemons, realized Diablo (a) talked about Rouge and Blanc without honorifics, so they had to be equal, and (b) was at least capable of the Demon Lord Presence. Saare and Glenda didn't know the information that the East had uncovered about demons, thus, they couldn’t recognize the significance of what scared the Demon Hunter. Later, Saare realized that Diablo was (a) named with a master, and (b) a Daemon Lord (Demon Peer), a supposedly legendary existence. This was based on information that the West does know about. Anyone who has a name who didn’t have a master would be reluctant to disclose his name because that means someone could take the place of the master. C. A Demon's strength is magic. It is second-nature to them. As an old one, Diablo has great understanding and control. And most of Rimuru's upper-level subordinates have Thought Acceleration and/or Cast Cancel, All of Creation, and some sort of Analysis Skills, probably included in a Unique Skill.

Let’s just say Diablo is at all times one of the strongest characters in the series and remember when rimaru gets stronger his servants do aswell, he stays Tempest biggest threat aside from veldora. I’m pretty sure atp in in the series he is only stopped by his older brother Guy(Rouge) and the true dragons. I think he can even go head to head with Rimuru right now and win if veldora isnt there to save rimaru but obvi that would never happen. Also Daemon lord is like a demon only evolution while Demon lord is a title/evolution for any monster, demons included, so Guy for example is an Awakened True Demon lord, and his racial evolution class is Deamon lord. Diablo tho is not yet a demon lord tho bc he hasn’t gotten the souls for the harvest festival to begin.

Diablo's voice is so playful, I love it. At 19:00, I think Ranga is a tempest star wolf now? Unless he evolved again and it didn't say anything.

Loved getting to see Diablo show some power on those chumps!

Be prepared to repeat, 'These freaking merchants!', for awhile. 😅 - Yeah, the new king isn't the brightest replacement bulb ever. But, you know war and politics can bring lots of surprises. - My basic rule of thumb is to assume Diablo would sink the continent if he had to. I'm not saying that he's got that kind of strength necessarily, I'm just saying that if it suited Rimuru's needs he wouldn't hesitate to make it happen. - Love seeing Gobta's survival instinct suddenly perk up when Hakuro was talking about him. 😆 - Diablo really is the very definition of, 'f*ck around and find out'. 🤣 - Ranga is good boy! His whimpers hurt my heart. 🥹 - Aaaaaaand, we're back to the Seven Day Clergy. Still robed. Still dicks. At least next episode should spread more light for you guys about them and what their deal is. - This is such a fun episode and I'm so happy you guys loved it! Can't wait for the next one! 🩷💛🩵
