If the implication was lost on you Hinata killed her father.

Overlord_Ashalon

Shizu was never a Hero she was a Champion. Hero is on par with Demon Lord.

Overlord_Ashalon

This outro? Boobs

Luminus and rimurus friendship becomes a very important thing for various reasons. But legit real friends.

Richard Diaz

Pride wasn't revealed yet.

Would love to see your react to Code Geass!

Apothecary Diaries and/or Frieren, so far one season of Frieren (28 episodes) ans Diaries has a completed first season of 24 episodes and is dropping episodes of season 2 now.

Hhound42

The fact that Luminus in this ending was using all her skills at 100% capacity to get every angle of Hinata in the baths kills me

Geriel-Tenebrae

Just a little hint for the future, but start paying attention to the character that have sins and virtues as their skills, they always end up being important characters. Maribel of Greed, Guy Crimson King of Pride, Rimaru the Glutton, and he also has Uriel Lord of Wisdom. They have already shown a lot of the others but just haven’t revealed what their skills are yet. But keep an eye out bc it will help you keep focus on who and what are actually important as the politics in the world get more and more messy.

1. That’s an interesting thought you have about how Rimuru thinking that he sacrificed something made it more likely that the desired outcome was reached. That could be part of it. But Raphael explained a different way. She thought that Rimuru really did want to learn about Holy Magic. Just that if she explained what she was planning to do Rimuru would veto it, saying that losing Beelzebub wasn’t worth the cost of a mere experiment, which probably wasn’t necessary anyway. Raphael could have used Absolute Defense, and it had a near-perfect chance of protecting Rimuru. To Rimuru that would probably be good enough, but not to Raphael. So Raphael reasoned that she would achieve Rimuru’s wishes by not letting him in on the plan. Because Rimuru really did want to learn Holy Magic. 2. I think Hinata thought that Luminus had created a utopia for humans. Maybe you and I wouldn’t agree, but the people were happy, at least. Not free, but happy. Hinata’s life experience led her to prioritize the happy over the free. So I give her a little leeway on going along with a vampire, because however cynical-sounding their motives, the outcome was still a happy populace. They weren’t really actively hurting the humans. They were being exploited, but they didn’t suffer for it, or even know about it. In fact, Luminus was protecting the humans from things like True Dragon rampages, monsters (some are non-sentient, and some are belligerent), and from angel invasions. Besides, to Hinata, she knew she couldn’t beat Luminus and change anything (she already tried that, and got corrected for her arrogance in thinking only she could correctly balance justice and free will). 3. The Seven Days are not just power hungry, and they too were being manipulated, just that it wasn’t hard. And they have another motive. And Luminus let them get away with it for a long time. 4. People generally get Skills when arriving in Slime World if their souls are strong enough to sustain the magicules required to support a Skill, and their desires are taken into account. At least that’s what I think.

John... really? You are accusing Raphael of becoming proactive, doing things as it sees fit, and showing signs of individual sentience? No. It's just your imagination. 😂 I did warn you two way back when Rimuru ascended into a full Demon Lord to keep an eye on her and to put some respect on the name. All hail Raphael, keeper of underhanded common sense! Such as making sure to have a backup copy of Rimuru's most important and used skill... without telling him. 😆 Honestly it's better that way because he honestly thought he was sacrificing it for his people and survival. So much in Tensura depends on intent and desire it's possible the outcome might have been different if he had known he was essentially sacrificing nothing. - The glee on Diablo's face at being given the green light to simply kill the members he had of the Seven Day Clergy will never stop being adorable in the most bloodthirstiest way. He's just so happy, it's infectious. Not to mention Benimaru and Soei's excitment for the similar order. Adorable. Absolutely adorable, and malicious... and psychotic. 😊 - Yeah, watching the Holy Knights basically have their foundations pulled out from under them is sad, in a pathetic way because I feel no sympathy for them. Guess you maybe should have asked more questions before oppressing entire SPECIES of people! 🤷‍♀️ - Hinata I'll make a VERY small exception for. She did have a crap life before she fell into Tensura, but honestly I still hold her responsible for any of her own actions. She knew Luminus was a vampire and that the whole pitting humans against monster part of the religion was to make people afraid and easier to manipulate. I wouldn't call her a particularly good person, but I also don't find her to be a detestable being either. Just a person who made her choices and is now living with the outcome of them. Just to be clear Hinata killed her dad. They aren't explicit with it in the anime, but she absolutely purposely killer her father for her mother. Only for her mother to still grieve the dad's death when Hinata thought she would have been happy. Also Chris was right. Hinata does not have a skill like Raphael. No one does. She was hearing the Words of the World when she transferred into Tensura. Not every person to cross over gets powers or skills, but a lot do. The Words of the World organizes the dispensing of it. - So yeah, all that BS because The Seven Day Clergy was just another power hungry group of asshats abusing their power. Like Hinata said, this world isn't so different. 🫤 But hark! Is that the sound of an incredibly irritated Demon Lord I hear? Uh oh, guess the oppressively powerful being you worship as a god heard you weren't obeying her orders. Truly, such a shame. 😏 - Ah, you're learning. When Rimuru is curious about something it's best to make a note of it because that's guaranteed to come up again. A Demon Lord doing Holy Magic, yeah I think it's safe to say that would be of interest to him at some point. - Poor Rimuru catching strays left and right. An innocent slime just can't catch a break. 😅 - Good lord, simps simp to almost ludicrous levels in Tensura. Good for Hinata I guess. 🤷‍♀️ - Poor Veldora. He is both innocent and guilty all at once. He just wants to make friends... and fight... and read manga. You know just a weeb living the good weeb life. - Yes Chris, good times and friends. That's exactly Rimuru's goal, and it's beautiful! 🥹 - LOVED the reaction guys! The next arc is actually a lot of fun for Tempest! I'm curious how you guys are going to feel about a bit of a slow down for some intense world building. Can't wait to watch with you guys! 🩷💛🩵

My vote for next anime is The Apothecary Diaries. It's different from what you have been watching, but most people seem to enjoy it. It has a lot of mysteries and a quirky main character.

This last section is really my theories or philosophy of Skills in general, Rimuru’s Skills in particular, what they are, how they are structured, and why Rimuru has these particular Skills. At bottom, it’s my explanation for why Rimuru is deeply motivated to make connections with people, and how all Rimuru’s Skills are related to that. First, it looks like these Skills, Storm Dragon and Uriel, just popped in as a useful basket to hold a bunch of Skills that Raphael didn't know what else to do with. But these are Ultimate Skills. Yeah, it means Rimuru's soul is strong. But it has to form from his desires, and even stronger ones than a Unique Skill would require. And up till now I emphasized its representation of the connections with his people, because it contains the optimized version of the Skills he received from others with whom he has bonds. I think Rimuru's particularly strong connection with his people is central to his personality, so much so, that it formed an Ultimate Skill. (Same as with the Veldora-linked Skill, btw.) But the other side of these Skills is, just what did Rimuru specifically desire when he received these Skills? What was his vow to his people? We know that his people were named by him, mostly, and they pledge loyalty in return. We see why it's called a Lord of Vows, because of where the Skills come from, but what is the function of this Skill, in essence? Uriel's central Skills are spatial in nature, and that, among other things, includes barriers. Uriel contains Skills related to the categories Banishment, Transport, Offense, and Defense. But if I had to pick the strongest and most important of them, it would be Defense. Why would it be defense, in a Skill representing his bonds with his people? What does he want the most regarding them? Absolute Defense (Guard, Protection) is the epitome of all that. I think that his vow to his people is to protect them. He is pretty extreme in that he orders his people to prioritize not dying. They give him their loyalty too, and it's based on trust and respect. You just never get this kind of feeling from leaders to quite this degree in anime, to the point that they formalize the bonding, and it is never coerced even symbolically (enough of slaves who want to be enslaved and whatever excuses they give for how it's ok). As far as what I was talking about with Veldora, I was saying that the Storm Dragon Skill represents a bond of equals who will protect each other even to the point of each being the life and memory backups to the other. Veldora's biggest fear for himself is not to die, but to lose his memories. But they both respect and trust each other. Rimuru doesn't have access to Veldora's Faust Skill even if he can do some storm-related attacks. But a Soul Corridor is stronger than Thought Communication, because with the Soul Corridor, it is impossible to lie. They have a literal soul-to-soul connection. You must trust someone to be willing to do that. So I think the desire that was filled by the formation of Ultimate Skill Veldora is the desire to support a brother.

First impressions: I wrote some of the answers to this episode’s questions in last episode’s comments. I explained how Shion could possibly beat Rimuru in last episode’s comments. See below as well. I got ahead of myself, sorry. I also partially explained about Beelzebub and Raphael last episode, but there’s more. I can attest that they never fully explain the aftermath in the anime, at least this season, so I will get into that a little. ***(EDIT: Some of this is in my response to LaLa's comment.) I mentioned before that both Hinata and Rimuru were in a weakened state after their battle, so Rimuru was more susceptible than usual to the Seven Days’ attack, even beyond losing Beelzebub’s protection. I gave a little explanation of Hinata’s Skills, and this episode we get a feeling for why she got those Skills. Remember, Skills, especially Unique and Ultimate, stem from deep desires, the core of their personalities and motivations, at that moment in time. Notice, as I have been saying, Hinata just appeared in Slime world. She said the same thing that Veldora said back in Episode 2 of Season 1: the essence of this world is survival of the fittest. Unlike Shizu, she fits in well here. 1. It's a legit question, how did a Demon Lord get Holy Magic? Before you ask about Shuna's having used Holy Magic, there's more to it. More later. I know there are certain conditions for someone who is not a believer to use Holy Magic. I mean, Luminus is at the top. Holy Magic is related to belief in part, but it may have to do with the leader bestowing the power, and also all of these people using Holy Magic (except Luminus and maybe Nicolaus) are Enlightened class. I believe I read that all of the Saints have a contract with an elemental lord. I don't think that's what enables Holy Magic, but it augments it somehow. This is something I haven't fully figured out. 2. When Hinata came to the Isekai, she heard Words of the World grant her Skills according to her desires. We know Usurper copies or steals Skills. That is the realization of her wish not to be taken from, but to be the taker; to control her own fate. The second Skill, Preserver, (first time I saw it called that, it is usually called Measurer or Mathematician), includes that Compute Prediction ability she has. It is an analytical Skill but doesn’t have the verbal function that Rimuru’s Raphael, or even Great Sage. It represents Hinata's wish to be clear as to what is just, and to act decisively based on solid data. (Btw, it is possible for a discarded Skill, even one that evolves into something else that is retained, to belong to someone else in the future. Some past Skills that others have had in the past are currently available in a repository somewhere to be bestowed on someone else–but only in response to their desires. There are other means of getting someone else’s Skills, but that is in the far future.) I don’t know if you noticed what happened to Hinata’s father in her backstory. One thing that wasn’t clear, but it ironic, is that her mother turned to religion to help her cope with her father’s death, meaning his death didn’t get Hinata what she wanted: a return to the happy life she had before, and her mother’s attention. 2. So what happened with Raphael and Beelzebub? Holy Magic is made up of pure spiritual particles. Magicules are made from spiritual particles. Raphael understands the behavior of magicules almost perfectly but she was still working on understanding spiritual particles. She felt there was still enough unpredictability to how they behave that she was concerned that Absolute Defense (Guard, Protection) would not be absolute enough, even though the possible failure rate might be 0.001% or whatever. So she tricked Rimuru into using Beelzebub to intercept the energy of Meltslash, which was Holy Magic, so she could analyze it. Unfortunately, the stomach still wasn't able to handle so much holy energy at once, which destroyed the space it was being sent to. In other words she thought Absolute Defense (or whatever) in Uriel was only, say, for example, 99.9% reliable against them. So in an effort to be of benefit to Rimuru, and fulfill his true desire, and also because she thought Rimuru wouldn't agree with the plan, she hid it from him. So now Raphael has the data it needed to perfect the Absolute Defense (Guard) that is part of Uriel. That doesn't mean Rimuru can use Holy Magic, but he can now defend against it. Raphael’s actions mark sort of a turning point in its “character”. How she behaves is changing. Raphael is working to understand what I am going to call the nature of the Spiritual world. It's like Magical/ Spiritual Quantum Mechanics or something. Several times we see Raphael employ data-intensive analysis of phenomena from a distance, which in itself is a new phenomenon, but Raphael does even better if she can experience it. You could say that tweaking Skills is her hobby. She does have the Ability Adjust function. I will explain Uriel in more detail later. For now, Absolute Protection is its most basic component, all the rest of its functions are just aspects of it, or add-ons. 3. It wasn't made explicit, but when the reporters asked Diablo what they should do, it was after Diablo said he would protect them, and they knew demons don't do anything for nothing. Diablo didn’t protect them out of the goodness of his heart, it was because Rimuru ordered him to, and because they gave him payment. The journalists were being useful to him by writing their articles, and his plan was dependent on it. It all worked out so nicely in the end, to his thinking. Diablo's Skill Tempter is the basis for the Despair Time (aka Moment of Despair). It's not time based (even though he called it Despair Time.) Tempting World is a Skill within Tempter, and usually works on the mind, but Diablo created a hopeless virtual world over which he had absolute control, including who lived and died, then he improved it so that he could use Truth Twist to switch out the virtual world for the real one. He then used End of the World to destroy that Tempting World. Demons, especially Primordials, have truly terrifying Skills. We did talk about Tempter before when he took control of souls such as those of Razen, Edmaris, Reyhiem, and even the reporters. Even Tiss-sensei in the OVA’s. Diablo also has another major Skill called Wise Man, which is another analytical-type Skill. I believe both Tempter and Wise Man are Ultimate Skills. 4. Did you see how long Veldora and Luminus were fighting? Btw, I hadn't realized myself somehow that Rimuru still hadn't made the connection between Luminus and Demon Lord Valentine. The Embrace Drain Skill that Luminus was using on Veldora had what I think was a maybe? unintentional positive side effect. It will be explained in the future. Just...you know...pain? The pendant that Nichlaus used to cast Disintegration on The 7 Days guy was holding a pre-loaded spell so Nichlaus could trigger it at a moment's notice. Revised Hercules' Edge is also called Goriki-maru Version 2.0. Revised because it's not the original or it was somehow improved upon by Kurobe. I don't know how much I can tell you about Mariabel. Even if we have gotten to a certain place where in the novels they have already revealed something or other, I don't always know if they will be more forthcoming in the anime later. But the greed she mentioned is important. 5. Overall, if you look at it from Tempest's or Rimuru's perspective, how would he describe the outcome of the events of this arc? It marks the expansion of Rimuru's relationships to the human nations of the West, formally, through the approval/tolerance of the Church. It doesn't mean he has trust or influence. We were just talking about connections. I guess you could call this making external connections. Rimuru is some kind of bond-making beast. He just said people used to see him as considerate and reliable. Remember when I said that this otherworld amplifies the personalities and tendencies of people originating in our world by giving them the power to actualize their desires? And perhaps his statement about his personality was the seedling for the tree growing in Rimuru's new world. 6. Relating to analytic-type Skills, there are varying degrees of predictive or analytic Skills that different individuals have. Raphael is close to being, if not the, top of the heap. (Obviously partly because it's an Ultimate. Veldora's Faust is a similar Ultimate Skill too.) But there are Skills that represent the other side of the coin. These are the Skills that alter realities in one way or another. Shion's Master Chef is one. Veldora's Faust doesn't only analyze, it also can alter probabilities. Rimuru really doesn't have a Skill that does that. (Omg, is this a weakness???!!! Lol.) His best bet to counter such Skills is to predict or analyze them in order to evade or have a better defense, or obviously attack. See my discussion of why Shion can beat Rimuru, possibly, in last episode’s discussion.
