First thing is first: CROW!!! Precious pup, thank you for gracing us! 🥰 - Chris, did you need an other reason than money for all the trouble? I mean money is pretty much at the root of most trouble. - Ah, yes it is time for our new weekly routine: THOSE FRICKIN MERCHANTS! *shakes fist angrily* - Council meetings might be boring in any other world, but Tempest meetings be WILD! We get all kinds of state secrets AND the tea. Who went into that room expecting to learn about Love Energy, Hinata's suitor, Veldora-kun possibly becoming a sacrifice, AND that Soei rizzed up another impressionable young female warrior? No one spills the tea like they do in Tempest. 😂 - Glad the knights have more or less been advised to get their heads out of their collective rectum. Their blind obedience has caused enough damage. Although, I do still put a large chunk of the blame at Luminus' feet. She let the Church put those rules in place and never cared about the sentient monsters that were hurt because of her followers. - I would take every opportunity offered to me to dine with Rimuru! The food in this show always looks 5star and makes me hungry! It was a fun coincidence today that the episode had scones! I spent my morning making my special cranberry spice scones with orange glaze. We had a huge blizzard overnight and I wanted to bring some warm comfort. My french omelets and scones were the winning ticket this morning.💗 - Always hilarious when Raphael has to step in and be the responsible partner. No Rimuru, you may not give out any more state secrets! Bad Rimuru, you are banned from 'drunk'! 🤣 - Rimuru making peace by essentially introducing 'comfort' to the world is so satisfying everytime. Yeah, he'll absolutely kick you ass if your provoke him or his people, but in a world that values strength in battle the way it does he's made more headway by just offering olive branches and soft furnishings. I love him so much for it. It does set off that warning bell in your head though. You can't help but wonder who is going to take his success personally. 🤔 - Yes, angels... what can possibly go wrong? 🤷‍♀️ - Yuuki's back... yay. Always entertaining to try and predict which way he's going to slither next. Have fun keeping track of that. 😂 - Oh good, Kagali popped back up. I was worried Tempest would only have one enemy to contend with. Hate for the crew to get bored or complacent. Gotta stay sharp. - You know what's so funny about your guys analyzing how anyone else could possibly beat Rimuru, is that you haven't stopped to think that undoubtedly there are enemies in Tensura thinking the exact same thing: how do we get rid of these obstacles and can we make it painful? There's never a shortage of people with ill intentions, especially when money and glory are at stake. Every person has a weak spot. Rimuru has broadcast pretty clearly his. You gotta assume that someone is going to apply pressure again. Just food for thought for you two. - GREAT reaction. You guys are picking up more and more clue drops and getting absorbed into the meat of the world building and intrigue. It's so exciting! 🩷💛🩵

I think what we are building to here is that the angels are the next force to be a powerful enemy. If they destroyed a city that belonged to Luminus and got away with it, it would indicate they must be pretty strong. There are also the other primordial demons. It is no secret now that Diablo is working with Rimuru and I wonder how the others will take it. Violet seemed weaker but Guy appears stronger. He doesn’t have a reason to be against Rimuru but I wonder about the others, such as Blanc that was mentioned recently.

Comment 3: A. About Luminus and Devotion: 1. Much of the following is from another person’s comment from elsewhere. Sorry I didn’t preserve the name. “Also, I think there is an important distinction to be made. Hinata does not follow the 'god' Luminus. She was defeated by the Demon Lord Luminus, submitted to her, and now serves her on the condition that she continue to treat the humans she rules well. Hinata is actually not a devout believer of Luminism, she only needs to act like she is because of her public position. “Hinata has faith in who Luminus really is. She knows the truth and has recognized that being under the rule of a Demon Lord like Luminus will be a prosperous thing for her nation. We see how quickly she wishes to resolve the misunderstanding with Rimuru and be friendly with him partly because she already has knowledge that Demon Lords are not exclusively evil beings.” 2. Back to my own comments: This is also something to ask about Luminus and Granville, and his contrasting feelings from Hinata. It seems like his ambiguous emotions arise from him being a Hero, as a person subject to fate more than most. The rank and file Crusaders had loyalty to Hinata, as the tangible presence in their lives, but their belief in something enables Holy Magic, perhaps mediated through Hinata in this case. Luminus only cares about devotion, and I guess she's satisfied with the kind the Crusaders (and Nicolaus, the cardinal) are displaying. How much Luminus feels this devotion and gains from it is unclear (or I forgot), as is how much her active intervention is needed in order to bestow or activate the Holy Magic. It probably has something to do with another thing Rimuru finds out about later. Also this scene illuminates some things about Luminus’ personality (given what her soul is about, me trying to be very vague). They also don't say much in the LN about what this Love Energy ritual is, exactly. B. More about Holy Magic and Raphael’s odd behavior in the last two episodes: [Based on someone else’s comment:] More about why Raphael wanted to analyze the spiritual particles that make up Holy Magic. It is difficult to “defend against holy magic because that's what makes it so scary[,] it not only becomes stronger the more faith people have in you (Meaning luminous [sic] having the largest following in the world[, meaning she] is one of strongest holy magic users to exist)[. It] completely bypass[es] most conventional forms of defense and attack[s] the soul itself so unless your [sic] prepared for holy magic[,] your [sic] screw'd.”

Comment 2: The Schemers, the Plots, their Goals, and about Cerberus: It was said earlier this season that Damrada was one of the leaders of Cerberus. It is an underground organization that has ties both in the West and the East. Yuuki is also connected but has a broader agenda. Damrada is both allied with and works for Yuuki. Orthrus and Echidna are both connected organizations, the first is about slaves, the second about exotic monsters. It isn't made clear in the anime, why Damrada asked Yuuki about what they are going to do in the first place, but it's because, (and I think they just didn’t make it clear), that they are trying to keep a low profile in the West due to Rimuru's increasing influence and Tempest's expanded access to intelligence in the West. Damrada knows Hinata suspects him so he's going home and sending Misha to take his place. Yuuki said he wants to stick around and observe a little more, But they are continuing to move to lay low. Damrada was the one who directed the scheme to blame the death of Reyhiem on Diablo and Rimuru, so as to get rid of Hinata, Diablo, and hopefully Rimuru, in alliance with the Rozzo's, whose own agenda is to keep Falmuth from falling into monster hands, and keep control of the West’s economy. Fortunately for him, he realized that sticking around in Falmuth and directing the eradication of Diablo personally wouldn't be good for his lifespan, so he fled. (Damrada did say he thought Diablo was defeatable, but they would probably lose Cerberus in the process. Yuuki said losing Damrada wasn't worth the risk, it would derail his own plans irrevocably.) Damrada’s goal was that he wanted to make money from the war, while also advancing Yuuki's goal of getting revenge on Rimuru for basically killing Clayman. It may have been Yuuki’s idea to spread that rumor in the first place. He had said he would say something, even if he weren’t going to do something to hurt Rimuru at that moment. Winning over the Church is key to winning over the West. The Rozzo's are also the Five Elders, they control the economics of the West, which is one reason why Damrada, representing the Eastern merchants, wants to maintain a window with them. But the merchants themselves were not trying to get rid of Tempest as an economic sphere entirely, because they don't care who they deal with, they think Tempest would just become another customer.

Comment 1: First Impressions: 1. Rimuru is an ordinary guy. You’re right. In temperament. But his soul isn’t exactly that of an ordinary guy. First of all, his strongest character traits become his strongest Skills, which shape what he does and how he does things. Someone else didn’t do what he did, and there have been plenty of otherworlders before him in history. No one else can do what he does/did, either, because only his personality and his soul come together in this particular way. Finally, I don’t believe that his presence is an accident. I am not saying someone is directing this, though. I think it happens naturally. 2. You might think that there aren’t many who can defeat Rimuru. Last two episodes I talked about how Shion could maybe do it. I also mentioned in general that others with reality-bending Skills have something that Rimuru finds more difficult to counter. But anime encourages you to neglect thinking about ways of attack that have nothing to do with physical (or magical!) combat. This show is about world-building. Rimuru has other vulnerabilities. You could destroy his friends, his country, his plans. There are many approaches. He needs his people and allies, and not just the ones like Diablo or Benimaru, to survive them. And you might be surprised who else has unexpected strengths, that are particularly difficult to overcome. I’ve said that most strong people keep their strengths a secret for strategic reasons. I have to admire the things the author has come up with in this respect, it’s well thought-out. 3. I think there are a few details that would flesh out some of the things said in this episode. They were in the LN already. Yuuki already said in Season 2 when he met with Clayman in a flashback in Ep. 24 that he wanted to "make the world ours", and it'll be fun. Hinata has a reason to still suspect Yuuki. The first time Laplace infiltrated Lubelius was a time she was called away, and I think it might be because of the Eastern Merchants. The second time Laplace got in, she was there, but only because she suspected an invitation she had received from Yuuki or Damrada was an excuse to call her away. Rimuru doesn't expect that the humans will see him and his monsters as humans, just that they are friendly towards humans. It's different for demi-humans, like dwarves, who are also not hostile to humans, who will be declared as basically human. They decided that assurances that the monsters and demihumans will not attack humans will enable them to loosen that creed that declares monsters as evil. The plan for those communication lines they talked about is to lay them in the dimension used for Shadow Motion. They already did that for the hot spring piping, as the source is actually some distance away. Rimuru is somewhat ambivalent about putting a church in Tempest, actually, but he is thinking that maybe it'll be a means for charity work and a refuge, etc. Not that he plans to leave every social service to them. Kazalim was the Demon Lord who was killed by Leon so he could take his place. But Kazalim, like Clayman, was a Deathman, so his soul escaped and ended up residing in (but not controlling) Yuuki (part of Yuuki's backstory). At some point he, Yuuki, got Clayman and the clowns on his side by promising to restore Kazalim, so he obtained a homunculus body for Kazalim. That is Kagali, the woman you saw. We were introduced to her in Season 2 when Laplace was visiting Yuuki–remember he laughed hysterically because of Kazalim’s change of “style”. Remember it was Leon who “killed” Kazalim, this was revealed at Walpurgis, but it was mentioned a couple of other times that the clowns had a grudge against Leon.
