One of the flying ants made it to a Japanese island and idk if they’re gonna mention the political schemes later but politics and Japanese put more s ranks (from a single guild, but their best guild) which was more than ever awakened in Korea as a flex against their 8 ish total in country s ranks which the guild president and jonwoo weren’t going on the raid

2025-03-18 06:48:14 +0000 UTCSo this is explained better in the Manwa, but the reason Jin-woo doesn't want to go on the raid is because his mom doesn't know that he is a hunter, and he doesn't want her waiting up at night wondering if he's gonna come back or die. He mentioned that she had to go through that when his dad became a hunter and having her just wake up from being asleep for 4 years he doesn't want her to go through the same stress she did in the past. Also with the question of level his level after the demon gate Jin-woo's level is 97.

For this country Jeju is an open wound figuratively and literally. Festering in the conciousness of the population and in reality as the island was taken over by the ants. Japan only got involved since the things learned to fly and were now a threat to them. Them growing wings is the only reason we even have this raid, otherwise they'd have happily quarantined off the island for years to come. I thought it was weird that they reused that song... but then I realized that they were mirroring what Jinwoo did to that C Rank strike team back in Season 1. Oh how the turn tables. The exchange at the end... not to spoil anything, but he traded places with one at home, because dinner was apparently ready :)

They removed the entire plot of the Japanese hunters trying to kill the Korean hunters from the original novel, and that was a huge part of the Jeju Island arc apparently. They also changed the ending with Jinwoo. I'm told he was shopping with his family when his shadows died, and then he used exchange. I have no idea why they would change that. The Japanese hunter with the white hair that vomited from the stench of the black ant has the same thing as Cha where he can smell the magic level of something. Still, I am hyped to see the next episodes.
