Ahhh this show is so good! I swear we had so much fun watching it! I have got to try some pork katsu sometime. I've never had it before! I'm glad you're going back and giving it a watch. I really hope they do a season 2 soon!

I'm know I'm watching this way after it was posted, but that looked so freaking delicious! After watching a few episodes, my husband asked if I wanted Japanese for dinner and I totally ordered the Pork Katsu, or whatever it's called, lol!. The pork with the brown sauce over rice... SOOOO GOOOOODDDD!!!

Can't wait for the second season of this and Delicious in Dungeon!! I was just at an anime convention recently and did a fun panel lead by Kabru and Izutsumi cosplayers and they mentioned the official Delicious in Dungeon cookbook should be coming out in US this year! I fully support y'all doing some cooking streams trying anime food. Thanks for the fun content!

I still suggest food wars but restaurant in another world is a good one too

Fox Demon

I would highly rate 'Restaurant to Another World' and 'Today's menu with the Emiya family' for my suggestions.

The "lore" of item box that time doesn't pass inside of it for most anime. Which can be handy because you can cook up huge meals and put them in the item box. When you pull them out they will still be hot and fresh! The ultimate way to store leftovers!

Oh we freaking loved Delicious in Dungeon. That's the show that got us started on our food anime journey! We have the full first season on here

The Heck Podcast

Thanks for the reminder. Definitely checking that out very soon!!

Back with those obscure cooking anime. I haven't seen all of them, but here goes: Sweetness and Lightning. Man cooks for his daughter after his wife passes away. Kakuriyo: Bed and breakfast for Spirits. Girl cooks for an inn for Youkai. Silver Spoon. It's really more about going to an agricultural unversity, but there's definitely food. Gourmet Girl Graffiti. Middle school girl living alone makes friends through food. JK Meshi. High school girls make that unique genre of food that is, hard to explain, the kind of food that students make in dorms? Farm Life in Another World. Really beautiful vegetables, and other food. Yumeiro Patisserie. Girl wants to become a patissier, and goes to school for it. Today's Menu for the Emiya Family. All about making food by and for characters in the Monogatari universe. Yakitate! Japan. Becoming the best bread baker in Japan. Laid-Back Camp (Yuru Camp). About camping in real places in Japan, and campfire cooking plays a prominent role. Actually think you'd like this even if it didn't have any food at all in it. Diary of Our Days at the Backwater. About fishing and cooking the fish. Toriko. Basically exploring the food of Japan. Cooking with Valkyries. Never heard of it before. Shining Hearts. Fantasy with baker-swordsman. Cinderella Chef. Chinese story about a modern-day chef who gets transported back in time in China.

Srsly, I think you got all the standard food anime recommendations already. There are some really obscure ones, I would have to do my research about what they are called, but they have a different vibe from the anime you're used to.

myst0dreamer

I concur! Both good Shows!

Restaurant to another world is great as they describe in detail the tastes they are experiencing. There are two seasons. Also I would recommend The Great Cleric, not about food but very funny.
