IT'S FREAKING MEAT DAY!! | Restaurant To Another World - Ep 12

It's Meat Day at Nekoya Restaurant and everyone is excited to get their hands and mouth on that pork soup!

Freaking wow! This show really surprised me with how good it was. They do such a good job focusing on the food while also building characters that you always enjoy seeing when they pop up! I can't say enough good about it. I will always have a special place in my heart for the food anime that we watch, and this show is definitely one of them now!

I say you might as well keep going with the ones you have started so far. They're all really good and i know the ones your watching now only get better with the next season.

great reaction

Ahhh konnyaku!! I remember watching an episode of Iron Chef one time and they were using that as the main ingredient!! It's a wild one! I'd like to try it some day.

The Heck Podcast

Damn that sounds like such a good freaking sauce! I need that in my life!! Especially on those freaking croquettes!!

Pork soup seems to be like tonkatsu ramen, at least the broth is. Among the big three ramen flavors, pork is one of them. (The others are salt and miso.) The seafood hints is probably, I am guessing, dashi used as a base, a broth which is one of the basics of Japanese cooking. It is made with a square of a particular seaweed. .......... Back on Tsukimichi episode you just watched, I commented that I want you to continue this and Tsukimichi, and watch Campfire Cooking in Another World Season 2 in October. If you only want watch one cooking show, I wouldn't mind if you watched Campfire Cooking before Restaurant. But since there seem to be reasons for frequent breaks in your schedule, it probably doesn't matter much since you won't be keeping up-to-date with it anyway. .... I have had katsu with ponzu sauce, it might be the same as tonkatsu sauce. I made it from a recipe. It does contain Worcestershire sauce, among other things. And apparently croquettes are only potatoes, but really to me croquettes include chicken and pork ones, too. There are some diner-type restaurants that serve chicken croquettes, where usually they are sort of egg-shaped, and are ground or minced chicken with seasonings and small bits of veggie. Often served with gravy.

One piece has over 1100 episodes. Croquette is like mashed potatoes breaded and fried, sometimes with meat in it or seafood. My favorite is cream croquettes, which you will see in Season 2. Tonkatsu sauce is used in so many Japanese dishes, not just on fried food. My favorite brand is Bull dog sauce, which is what I used to call it, because that was the only brand I ever saw. LOL. I hope you do watch Season 2, you do get even more background on the restaurant.

The sauce for croquettes is tonkatsu sauce, a sweet and savory sauce that's kind of like a thicker worcestershire sauce. If you had tonkatsu (pork cutlets) or chicken katsu in japan, then you should be familiar with the taste.

The black pieces in the pork soup are konnyaku, a kind of rubbery, gelatin-like food made from yam powder. They're flavorless and low calorie and you add them for texture. The way I would think of it is a like a flavorless, more solid jello square in soup. It's a good diet food and does make a soup more interesting by varying up the texture

bokchoy

I think it slipped by you because he wasn’t making any “sword” jokes. lol

Dang I thought I remembered it being sometime this year but heck that is close! I'm so stoked for that one!

The Heck Podcast

That sounds like something I would love!

The Heck Podcast

Whoa that totally slipped past us. I can't believe that's the same dude who captured Lionel! There are so many connections between characters in this anime and I love when that happens.

2nd Season please

A reminder: Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill Season 2 starts in October

Edward Lott

hello , yes go for the second seasons, and also for a quick one can go for Isekai Izakaya: Koto Aitheria no Izakaya Nobu like Redssracer suggest the episode are shorts , and food wats is a total classic now for food

Stanislas HEMMER

My early vote is to watch Season 2. The relationships between certain restaurant customers continue to grow.

If you're looking for another food show to watch, Food Wars will probably be the most popular pick... Buuttt... If you are looking for an anime along the lines of "A Restuarant to Another World", you may want to check out "Isekai Izakaya: Koto Aitheria no Izakaya Nobu" ("Isekai Izakaya: Japanese Food From Another World"). It's about a Japanese bar/tavern in another world...

Redssracer

You guys need to do Season 2, to get the story about the restaurant...and also to complete the anime...😁👍👍

Redssracer

Food Wars would be the number 1 food anime.

Edward Lott

Season 2 is better production quality than the first season and you see a more wild collection of fantasy stuff. From vampires to boys eating pizza.

Chitinlord

I also vote for season Two

Lawrence Flower

The half elf Alexander, he’s the princess’s great grandfather. He managed to save his lover and their son, but stayed away from his son in the end. His son who grew to be the emperor. Notice that it’s only two of the 4 hero’s who recognized the potential threat that Kuro is. Everyone else just sees an elf girl. Also the following is a bit of a spoiler, if you want to read the books, but they don’t go into it even in season 2 so I figure it’s fine. But stop reading here if you like. Yomi, the hero and grandmother of the chef, said she was “created to defeat the demon king” Created is right. She was born of a powerful priestess and a powerful Oni/Ogre. Which also means that the chef isn’t 100% human. He is 1/8 ogre.

PotterBrony

The fact that his mother was the Hero who got cast into this world is the first clue on how the door works. It gets explained in Season 2.

Edward Lott

If you do another food show ramen akaneko is a great show its about cats that own a ramen restaurant.

Ero Sennin

Would love for you to watch season 2

Ero Sennin

I vote for the next season! One thing you forgot when Alex the half-elf was going to the restaurant was that he defeated Katsudon (Lionel) and had him enslaved to the gladiator fights where he met the original owner and got his love of Katsudon. And now you two know the truth about the owner and his connection to the other world of those who patron his restaurant. The manga/light novel goes into more detail, but you can accidentally go into second season territory if you read them. Either way your expressions were great when Yomi's info was revealed. One option of a cooking anime I can suggest if you don't continue to second season right away is Gourmet Girl Graffiti. Really wholesome anime about food and sharing and it is funny too.
