Lokesh knows the importance of the nostalgia factor and always has many callbacks. The lines Rajnikanth speaks is from one of his classic songs (Ninaithale Innikum). There are Ilayaraja songs mixed in, and the badge (and the coolie character) were common tropes in his movies from the 80s-90s.
