I was expecting you guys to talk about Rajit Kapur in the review (at least a few lines). Besides looking like Salman khan 😄, he is an amazing actor. Very underrated.

I had the audio cassette of zubaida back then and the movie in theatres in tamil nadu didn't run for long therefore I didn't watch the movie then. But I was addicted to its songs by ar rahman. So was listening to zubaida songs for years along with taal and dil se. One of my favorite albums back then

Please watch Junoon (1983) it's one of his best with a stellar star cast (high time you know who Shabana Azmi is) and then there is Suraj ka Satva Ghoda. That one is very Kurasawa-esque. His very best is a TV series called Bharat Ek Khoj but its a very very tough one to access.

Zubeidaa Mammo Sardari Begum My favorite being Mammo. Mammo is a kind of sequel story to Zubeidaa.. with Rizwaan(Zubeidaa's son) growing up with his grandma and Grandma's sister - MAMMO played fascinatingly by Farida Jalal... You saw Mammo in the wedding song.. she was the happy aunt 😄
