PS : also have travelled in US and had Indian food there but its definitely much better in general over this side of the pond. :-)

2024-08-30 14:30:17 +0000 UTCThere are some really good Indian, Nepalese and Pakistani restaurants in London and all over UK. You just need to know where to go. Agree with the fact that sometimes over stylising Indian food takes away the essence of it. However disagree with Lali from London about tikka masala slowly becoming sidelined. Grew up in India, (love my mum's and grandma's food), enjoy cooking and have catered to small events here in UK and I really enjoy Indian food available in many restaurants (authentic ones) here including chicken tikka masala. My kids and their friends and cousins absolutely love it so the next gen is also a fan of it! :-)

2024-08-30 14:28:32 +0000 UTCAww londontown my old stomping grounds 🥹 Unfortunately the one time I could afford a fine dining experience as a penniless masters student was at the shard rooftop. 10/10 highly recommend. For indian food the old faithfuls ( tiny chicken shops owned by Indian and Pakistani families) are absolutely the best.

I used to go to the YMCA once a week for lunch, it was a 10 mins walk from my office. Would often go to Tayyabs too, they have amazing kababs! Would never spend that much on food, but have been to a Michelin star Indian restaurant in London, but it wasn’t this crazy expensive, however some of the most underwhelming Indian food I ever had. Like Korbin said you don’t need to make Indian food fancy, doesn’t need it. Also watch London ki Lali’s video on YouTube all the time!
