2025-04-19 05:29:27 +0000 UTCThe batters were not pretending that it hit the bat when they were trying to take a run. You can take a run even if it doesn't hit the bat. If it hits any part of the body and you take a run, its called 'leg byes', and if the ball doesn't hit the bat or any part of the body, but still they take a run, then the run is counted under 'byes'.

2025-04-08 23:59:10 +0000 UTCThe bowler (and others) NEED to 'appeal' to the umpire for an LBW decision. If they don't appeal, the umpire can ignore it, even if the batter was clearly out. Thats why they all turn around and start shouting like a maniac :)
