2025-05-25 20:30:22 +0000 UTCHere's my two cents on Kaala. I think this film is ok. I hate the not so subtle, subtlety in Pa Ranjith's communist themes. It's so obvious, and it is drawing parallels to how the communist party was ousted from Maharashtra by Shiv Sena back in the day. However, Mumbaikars did prefer the homegrown thinking of the latter as it matched what we wanted back in the day. I like the overall message, but it is so bogged down by the communist hints that it ruins the movie for me.

They claim Ram as their God. So this film took a dig at the Ramayana and their Propaganda and hatred against slums, oppressed caste and their aversion towards black.. Pa Ranjith makes political films which stands for the oppressed.. And at the end Rajinikanth got killed and what you see is just an illusion of nana.. The end shot means “ No saviour can protect you .. If you come to the streets and get united to fight against oppression with ideological clarity (Black, Red and Blue denotes ideologies which propagate Equality) , Every one of you are kaala and you can take down the white (Supremacists). And there are lots and lots of cultural and mythological references in this film and this film is the best Tamil film ever made imo both content and craftwise! And My Man Pa Ranjith is the best director in India , hands down 😎💙
