Deus would be pronounced as "Day-us" the rest is alright. It's a phrase that was essentially the motto of the crusades. My interpretation of the prayer stuff so far is that it's basically just an incantation to focus magic energies.

Well, he references himself as a guy. For example talking about still being a salary man in the original episode. I don't believe that he refers to himself ever internally as a female besides "Tanya!? I'm a girl?" Both references actually stop after this episode though. Anime Tanya is the type of person to be whoever will get farthest in life so it probably doesn't even matter to them. Basically use whatever you want since they don't care either. However the manga goes a bit more in depth, but I won't bring that up here.

It's not that he doesn't believe in God cause he definitely knows he exists. It's more like he doesn't have faith. In a simplified explanation: The Orb on their chest let's them use magic. Mages are really new in this world because they only a few years before the war were able to create those orbs and many countries are still experimenting with it and testing new things out because they don't know the most useful way to use them in war and they haven't made the most advanced versions yet. The Empire is in the lead in terms of Orb development. Every country is developing it differently so the way their 'mounts' look is different for every country. And you can just see by the way the Empire's mages look that they are more developed. The medal she got (Silver Wings Assault Badge) is basically the Purple Heart Medal. Most of the people who have the medal are dead. Being X doesn't wanna punish Tanya he just wants to convert Tanya to have faith in God. Which is why he gave her a blessing so she can survive. (He will still make life difficult for her tho) sorry for long comment lol. If anyone sees any wrong info in this, feel free to comment a correction.

I guess you could say the guy at 20:45 was disarmed.... Also , I think referring to her as a "she" is the correct way since the guy ,the "he" died and was reborn as a "she" , not simply isekai'd or whatever made up words we be using lol :D
