Judgment Commentary! | The Rising of the Shield Hero | Episode 13 "The Devil of the Shield"

Think about that Crystal Ball and the Footage they made like a normal Camera, they altered the Material in the Church to show the People the " Evil and Mad Devil Shield who killed the Royal Knights and take Melty as a Hostage" The King dont want Naofumi go to Siltvelt because, the Shield Hero is like a God for the Demi Humans in this Country. Sadly they let that Detail out in the Anime. That Shadow behind the Rock belongs to an Shadow Squad under the Kings Command. I Think if i remember it correctly, in the Light Novel, Shadows under the Queens Command helped Naofumi and his Party literally " From the Shadows" since they silenced the other Shadows ( I think they dont killed them, but KOed them and tyed them up)

I'll also post this as its own comment because it really shows just how twisted Myne/Malty really is: When she plays chess with her younger sister (Melty), she always tries to cheat in an attempt to get the upper hand, how dastardly.

Light novel trivia time (incindentally, I just read this part of the books yesterday): The reason Filo can transform into a human girl is because Filolial Kings/Queens can use magic to disguise themselves as a "regular" member of their flock. In 99% of cases that means a regular Filolial, but in Filo's case her "flock" was a party of humanoids. In the novels, Naofumi didn't just let the knights get away, they actually chased a few of them down (but didn't get the guys with the crystal ball). Melty also gave an actual argument as for why the king wouldn't be in on it, that being, the king is too smart to come up with a plan this obvious. To quote her "if it was [the king] that was behind this, [they] would definitely have died." Whether that is true or not though, isn't exactly proven. The battle took place by the checkpoint, and just before it some villagers Naofumi had helped in the past offered to aid him in sneaking across, though they were discovered before any such plan could be put in motion. Myne was a bit more "sublte" with trying to kill Melty, and by that I mean, she didn't announce "She'll just have to die if she's brainwashed!" but rather something along the lines of "Brainwashed or not we have to return fire!" Naofumi was getting sick of Motoyasu when he was being a creep with Filo, and he attempted to use Iron Maiden on him (it didn't seem like he actually wanted to kill him though, more like, "well if he dies he dies, better him than us"). Ren and Itsuki weren't having that though, and they yeeted the Iron Maiden before it could kill him. Raphtalia is a different story though, in the novels she is a lot thirstier, not for Naofumi however, but for the blood of his enemies. When she snuck up on Myne, she stabbed her with the real sword, and she only pulled the mana sword after Ren disarmed her, at which point she attacked Myne again. Speaking of, Ren fought only sparingly, he only really intervened when he thought someone might die, something that Naofumi was VERY relieved by since he considered Ren to be the strongest hero (including himself). In a side story at the end of the book, we also get a bit of insight into how the queen feels about this whole ordeal through the eyes of Melty. I don't know if you would consider such details spoilers though, so unless promted, I'll just not write it down.
