Episode 6 ending, and to a smaller extent the whole Metal Float arc, it hit really hard for me not only on first watchthrough but also on rewatch. When Vivy asks Dr. Saeki to find happiness after the incident, and he responds back with "find happiness?", you can hear the emptiness and despair in his voice. Good job his voice actor. Ophelia's story didn't hit me quite as hard but it was still amazing. Instead of getting me emotional, it made me really ask the same question: What does it mean to pour your heart into something? I think everyone will have a bit of a unique answer. It's always nice when a show manages to ask you a question where there isn't really any single uniform answer. We also had some intriguing plot stuff, technology seemingly from future and overall a good mystery. And to top everything off, the animation in Vivy vs. Kakitani (or Yugo, or the Toak guy, whichever you want to call him xD) was amazing. There were multiple 60fps shots and the coreography was really fun to watch. You had your typical flips in air combined with kicks and some hand-to-hand combat but also some cool stuff like grabbing the opponent's hair while falling, throwing a Matsumoto cube, going over or under railings or other obstacles, and lastly that Matsumoto save when Yugo was about to launch a misslie towards Vivy who was laying on top of the piano. Cool stuff everywhere. Action was great but also the music keeps being good. Man I really love the OP song and I am glad you are liking it so much too. The ED at first felt a bit underwhelming to me, until I changed the way I look at it. We have a show about music and singing and high energy scifi action so it is a nice contrast to have lyricless slow ED song. Great batch of episodes, thoroughly enjoyed your reaction to them and I love how on top of things you are, understanding the plot and meanings of the themes! I hope the guy who commissions this does it for next month as well, the finale is also great and I can't wait to rewatch it with you! After the anime ended, they have released audiotracks and new songs which can be found on nyaa, some of them are cool.
