I really cant understand why People go and dislike it... yes Episode 10 is really harsh, but they should see it from another Point... The Way those 2 Nobles act and whatnot was sadly something that was Normal at those Times. The Underworld is a Virtual Reality but it has Real World Influence in some Parts, and Higher Ranked Nobles raping Woman was sadly a Normal Occurence.. it wasnt even unheard of that Nobles took the most beautiful Young Woman and Girls, even if they were already married or so and used them as Playthings.
It is dark, but i honestly like, as you mentioned, that a lot of Japanese Light Novel Authors and sometimes even the Anime Studios who Animate them dont shy away from Controversial Themes.

OH BOY. Episode 10 is here.
Probably one of the most controversial episodes in all of SAO.
Many really dislike it for a good reason, it goes too far with the rape stuff, but if you can swallow that, it's a really cool episode. It gives us more dark version of SAO. Arms cut off and and blood spraying. A freaking eye popping. Good stuff for gore fans and it shows that the author isn't afraid of doing stuff like that. I can always appreciate when a fairly light hearted series can do dark stuff.

I feel like the author of SAO has a rape fetish or something because I swear every villain in this show is a rapist with no other motive xD
