The flowers in the op symbolize death, next time you watch it try to look at it with that in mind.

Just one more to go and we'll be officially in Final Season territory! So, about the other Rouka girl, Hanadori. There's a pretty popular "theory" in the anime only community where some people actually believe she is a lie and Numachi is only talking about what happened to herself, especially because she also wore track suit pants. But having read the novel, I'd say this is most likely no the case. The anime makes no comments about her name, they simply mention her, but the novel goes on about it for a bit. It is phonetically identical to Numachi's first name, but the spelling is different. Numachi even mentions this coincidence was the reason she remember her name in the first place. She goes on and compares the kanji in both of them, beign jealous of the girl for having such a pretty name that means "blossom on a high tower", while hers means "wax flower", in addition to her family name using the characters for "flowers" and "birds" as opposed to Numachi's, which is plainly "swamp". They weren't related in any way, they never met again after that and the only reason for Hanadori's pants under the skirt was to hide the demonic leg (while Numachi wears track suits because she finds them comfortable, like Karen). Besides the fact that she is a lesbian, she told us she was awfull at befriending both, boys and girls. With her personality I doubt she would maintain a relationship with a college guy, even if just to keep appearances. Also, in the book Kanbaru asks Rouka head on how she steals the devil parts and her answer is that: “Who knows? My interpretation was that my powerful desire to help her brought about a wondrous miracle, that when I embraced her the devil’s leg was transplanted from her body to mine.” Besides this, I find it smooth and not overbearing the way the show brings up such a heavy topic as suicide. Not in a graphic way and also not pondering into it too much trying to make sense of it. It's just as plain as "there's that, and that's it", many shows fail to bring up this topic in an acceptable manner, even if it's their main topic.
