So, this time Araragi's forgetfulness is a bit different from the other times, because this is the first time where he, de facto, has no recollection of the facts whatsoever. Like he said at the start, he was just repeating what his parents and Sengoku said to him, but, even after they told him the story, he didn't remember it, unlike how it was with everything else he has forgotten so far. On the same note, about why Araragi's parents just didn't stop Oikura from going back to her home after being rescued by them, the novels go more in depth on this topic. Basically, at the time (Araragi's elementary school days were in the 90s) it was even harder than it is now for a public agency to enter into a private household, so his parents’ actions of temporarily taking Oikura into their own home were not something officially recognized. Extralegal measures. Her parents didn't care and Sodachi was probably persuaded to come to their place, but as soon as she wanted to leave of her own volition, they couldn't do anything, as this would be child abduction. Not only that, but the novels also give us one extra reason for Araragi not to remember her from that time: his parents would do that _all the time_. Various times during his childhood he would wake up and his parents would have brought a different kid to their house to shelter them. Those were common occurrences, so Oikura's case didn't strike him as being different in any way for him to specifically remember her. This also ties up with Tsubasa Tiger, when Hanekawa was staying at their house, and the Araragi Matriarch says they have the resources and have no problem taking care of other kids, but she shouldn't treat their family as her own and even talks about domestic abuse to Hanekawa, since her parents were neglecting her. All of the Monogatari seiyuu are legendary, but this episode to me has one of the best voice actings of the entire series, and that's a lot of praise! Marina Inoue did a perfect delivery of Sodachi's lines during the entirety of the episode. In the novels, this book is the one that has the most descriptions of how someone said something, their intonation, volume, intensity, etc... and she just did every line EXACTLY how it was written to be, it's beautiful. Along with Sengoku's fit of rage in Nadeko Medusa and another scene in Owari S2, this is tied for top 1 for me, voice-acting-wise.
