This OP is goated, it's probably my favourite, along with Mousou Express from the Nadeko Medusa arc. The visuals and the beat are just so well crafted. Shinobu wanting to go back to the form of a young girl doesn't really have anything to do with appearance itself, because yeah, she could transform at will with her full powers, it's just her way of saying she wants her pairing with Araragi to be restored. The Darkness is not an apparition, it's the manifestation of the rules themselves, that's why Araragi was surprised in being told Ougi is just an ordinary monster, he was sure she was the materializing of "something" like the Darkness, even if not the Darkness itself. I love how Nisioisin was able to connect so many points in the story and trace them all back to Kiss-Shot's first landing in Japan. Her boredom 400 years ago is what bought forth everything happening in Koyomi's life right now.
