The corruption sown through the Chancel by Ahe'gauu does not stand alone as the only influence of the other cosmos that has come to behold this suffering city. Though the overwhelming corruptive force of the living planet seems without peer, there are indeed older and stronger sources of eldritch influence in the great beyond. No strangers to the land of Jizzral, these outer beings have occasionally passed through the space between spaces to visit this land in the past. Though their visitations were brief, the corruption sown by their mere presence has lasted eons, leaving behind a small number of Shaft Beasts that continue to repopulate in the far reaches of the world.
But those were short glimpses into the true, terrifying power of these eldritch beasts. What fate befalls the Chancel in its hour of desperation is far more frightening. The First Elder itself, progenitor of the Erogenetians, has seen fit to observe the corruption of the Chancel, curiosity piqued by Ahe'gauus unexpected usurpation of the place. Though the unknowable entity only projects a fraction of its consciousness across the cosmos in voyeuristic exploration, the mere presence of its will occasionally manifests an echo of its vast and terrible power - a memory fragment of the Great Elder Tyr that cannot help but lash out at the pitiful little creatures that toil so laboriously to escape corruption. The eldritch being's mere acknowledgement of these mortals is enough for them to realize its existence, and in so doing being exposed to its memetic corruption. Merely by watching, it ends up influencing the Chancel's fall. The hunters can only hope that its gaze does not fall upon them directly.
