Jaune's Pineapple Jam 76

Location: Arc Household, Ansel

Time: 9:00 AM

As a Huntsman dedicated to the safety of his home, Nicholas Arc has been waking up early and going to work early almost every day for more than twenty years.

It was no wonder then that he frequently missed the morning news. It was no big loss to him personally however. After all, any news broadcasted during the morning would mainly be about weather reports and the occasional celibrity scandal their kingdom gets into.

Vale would hardly broadcast bad news so early in the morning when it could cause panic among the populace and cause Grimm to attack towns and villages.

No, if Nicholas really needed to then he would tap into the local Huntsman network for news about nearby Grimm sightings and oncoming storms to watch out for. Anything else were just gossip and distractions more suited for his daughters.

Today was different however as Nicholas was still in the middle of his morning patrol when his Scroll rang.

It was surprising but it wasn't that strange. And while Juniper didn't always call him while he was in the middle of work, it has been known to happen. Usually when she needed help wrangling the children or when she needed some groceries.

Nicholas has always been happy to help his wife whenever time and circumstance permitted it but as he answered the call through his Scroll, she was already shouting before he could even speak.

"Get to the house! Now!"

Nicholas' blood froze at that and he was already running to their house before he knew it. His patrol route laid forgotten even as the town's morning militia called out and waved toward him.

Juniper shouting like that with fear in her voice was never good news. Were they being attacked?! Did something happen to their kids?! Did one of his daughters sneak in a boy last night?!

Nicholas zoomed across the town towards his own house. His hand slammed the door open so hard that the wood cracked and the house shook.

"Honey! I'm home!"

The greeting left his mouth automatically even as his eyes blew wide open as they frantically tried to assess the situation.

He paused however, letting his breath catch itself when he saw not a single person turned towards his direction.

Broken pieces of plates laid forgotten on the floor as everyone's eyes were glued to the tv blocked by a sea of blonde hair as a voice talked through it.

"Honey? What is happening?" He called out softly, the sea of blonde hairs rustling as their owners turned slowly towards him.

Before he knew it, a cacophony of noise was assaulting his ears.

"Dad-"

"It's-"

"Vale is-"

"Jau-"

"Big bro is so-"

Five of his seven daughters remained inside his household and called out at the same time before a voice bellowed over them.

"ENOUGH!" His wife, his Junebear, his queen, cut through the chaos tyranically, silenced their brood of daughters as his heart skipped a beat at the display of authority.

He shook his head however when he saw his wife worriedly purse her lips at him. This was not the time to think about adding another one to their already large brood.

"Honey, look at the tv." Juniper said softly, taking him out of his thoughts as Nicholas couldn't help but follow her direction.

His jaw dropped however when his daughters finally gave way and right there on the tv was his one and only son killing Grimm left and right in broad daylight.

When he first thought of leading the Grimm away from Cinder, he thought he could leave the heavy lifting to the others once he reached the Southern Wall. But when he saw their own predicament, something snapped into place.

The Grimm were pounding their position. They weren't being overwhelmed just yet but it was only a matter of time.

And worse still was that he was bringing more Grimm from the other side!

He was lucky Coco was resting on the backlines and managed to decimate the Grimm following him so the others wouldn't get crushed in a pincer maneuver. Still, that didn't solve the problem of more Grimm pouring in from the breach to push the defenders back.

It was as if time slowed down but as Jaune saw the defenders of Vale struggle, he sped up. Semblance amping up his Aura so much that he could literally feel it throbbing across his veins like blood. Heat suffused his body as his muscles exerted themselves in effort.

Eventually, time resumed its movements and Jaune was already rushing past the defenders.

The rest, as they say it, was history.

He crashed into the Grimm horde like a cannonball.

That should have been it then and there.

He should have been skewered but that didn't happen, instead, he gave the defenders some room to breathe.

He should have taken the time to regroup with the others but that didn't happen, instead, his eyes lit up as he saw the Grimm reel away from him.

He didn't know what made him do it but he grinned as he raised his sword upward and before he knew it, Jaune Arc was charging into the fray.

And behind him was the might of Vale.

Time: 9:00 AM

Nicholas Arc gawked as Lisa Lavender's image popped out of the screen on top of the sight of his son fighting for his life leading a whole frontline of Huntsmen and Huntresses.

"This is Lisa Lavender, back to you again live after a short break."

The feed showing his son shrank as everyone gasped when the tv showed a breach on the City of Vale's walls. A whole section, broken down even as Nicholas saw people milling around it and beginning to build up defenses.

Judging by the scene behind Lisa, she was inside the walls....while his son was outside fighting.

Before Nicholas could even panic, Lisa was already continuing.

"As you can see, the Hero of Vale is still hard at work in beating back the Grimm horde while construction crews continue to repair the breach on Vale's Southern Wall."

The hero of what now?! The breach on where?! Nicholas blinked as Lisa Lavender dumped information after information on viewers everwhere.

"You heard that right everyone, Vale has its own hero and with me right now is Glynda Goodwitch, Professor of Beacon, who has so graciously given us her time to answer a few questions about him."

The screen widened and Nicholas watched as Glynda Goodwitch came into the screen beside Lisa.

It did not look like she had graciously given her time however as Glynda Goodwitch only looked frazzled with her red-rimmed eyes and blonde hair in disarray.

"Now Professor Goodwitch, for the benefit of those who do not know yet, can you please appraise us of the situation and tell us about the young man leading the fight today?" Lisa asked with a professional smile on her face.

Professor Goodwitch's eyebrow only twitched a bit at that before her expression smoothened out with a deep breath as she looked at them.

"For the benefit of those of you who do not yet know, the City of Vale was breached early this morning at 3 AM."

While that much was obvious because of the broken wall behind her, hearing it said out loud still sent shockwaves through his soul.

For if the Capital City of Vale itself was not safe then what was?

While it was something Vale would never be able to hide because of the sheer scope of it, it was still news he did not expect to be shared to the frontier villages while the crisis was still ongoing.

And yet Lisa's bright expression and Glynda's calm demeanor did wonders to contain the distress even as his family gasped in shock.

"Immediately after the event, Vale's local forces moved to deploy defensive lines even as Atlas began to secure safe zones while Beacon deployed to push back the Grimm threat." Professor Glynda continued as Lisa nodded beside her while an additional screen appearrd showing Winter Schnee right in the middle of the city overseeing Atlas drones in rescuing civilians.

For a moment there, Nicholas got lost at the sight of white hair before he shook his head. This was no time for errant thoughts and bygone memories.

He narrowed his eyes and focused on what was important. While Atlas being at the city to help did a lot of things to reassure people, it still didn't answer Nicholas' main concern.

Just why the hell was his son fighting there?!

The tv was split into three screens but Nicholas was only focused on one.

His heart almost leapt out of his chest as he tracked his son's movements while he ducked under an Ursa's claws. That was too close for comfort but he breathed a sigh of relief when his son twisted away from it, letting another Huntsman bury his weapon in its neck.

Contrary to his expectations of Jaune running away in fright, his son only laughed before he leapt straight towards an Alpha Beowolf.

It seems his son wasn't done giving his old man a heart attack just yet!

The scream that almost tore itself out of his throat was however suddenly choked when light flashed and the next thing he knew, the Alpha Beowolf was split in two.

His daughters oohed and ahhed in awe even as Nicholas' eyes narrowed.

At first, he thought the light flashing from his son was just the sun glinting off of his armor but it was obvious now that it was more than that.

Just what was happening with his son?

"While that is all well and good, Professor Goodwitch, what can you tell us about the young man there?" Lisa asked, jolting Nicholas out of his thoughts even as the screen showing Winter Schnee disappeared in favor of the one showing his son becoming larger.

Glynda's lips twitched at that even as Nicholas nodded at the question. It was perfect timing to get some answers but Glynda only kept her face neutral.

"His name is Jaune Arc, as I'm sure you know by now." She looked at Lisa exasperatedly even as Nicholas almost groaned in frustration.

While his daughters sounded excited at the confirmation, it was only that.

Confirmation.

It was nothing new and it did not seem like Glynda Goodwitch would be more forthcoming about information.

Nicholas will admit that Lisa was persistent however as she only nodded gracefully at Glynda's short answer.

"But he is your student, is he not?"

"He is."

"And what year is he in?"

Nicholas narrowed his eyes at that. So his son did manage to get into Beacon. He would've thought the faculty there would turn him away on account of him being untrained but it seems their concern for their students have started to lower if they were willing to take him in and send them into battle.

Back in his day, every single trainee was highly valued. Their lives and training were special as the number of Huntsmen and Huntresses during those days were nowhere near where they are now. Every single one of them lost on a training accident was a heavy blow and a waste on resources.

His son was definitely not one that would have been accepted during those days. Yet here his son was.

"Jaune Arc is currently a first-year student in Beacon Academy." Glynda grinded out at Lisa and Nicholas could see how much she hated giving up that information and yet he could also understand why she had no choice.

A quick search of his name would show just how young Jaune was, not to mention the identity of his teammates would be dead giveaways of his year if they were ever identified.

Yet still, it was information Nicholas already knew or could surmise.

For once, Nicholas wished the journalists would be able to worm out answer as Glynda still did not explain just why was his son fighting a Grimm horde during his first year.

Lisa Lavender must have heard his wish because she grinned as she turned towards the camera and away from Glynda Goodwitch.

"Thank you for that succint answer, Professor Goodwitch, but I am sure the people of Vale want to know, just who is Jaune Arc and how is it he, of all people, was leading the fight today?"

Nicholas nodded in anticipation at Lisa's questions even as she continued and gave him hope.

"Luckily for all of you, I have just the answer." She grinned as the screen showing Jaune magnified. "Which I will give to you after a short break." Lisa winked as this time, Nicholas really did groan loudly.

Damn tv programs and their commercials! He didn't have time to watch another Pumpkin Pete video!

Luckily, this time was different. Lisa stayed on screen as she gave them all a wink.

"In the meantime, let us watch the hero at work."

Jaune's image magnified and Nicholas was taken in by the happy grin on his face.

Time: Unknown

Laughter bubbled out of Jaune's mouth as he leapt over a charging Boarbatusk.

He peripherally knew what was happening, he was having Aura fucking High.

Professor Glynda and Nurse Tsune warned him of this state, saying that it often led to carelessness and body degradation but as he tanked an Ursa's charge head on, he found that he couldn't care less.

After all, it's not like he was the only one fighting. He smiled as he glanced to the side, seeing Pyrrha piercing her spear straight through a Beowolf's neck.

It seems sometine during the struggle to push the Grimm out of the city, Pyrrha managed to come back and link up with him. The fact that she was with him and not crying or panicking told him that she manged to escort Weiss and Blake to safety.

It filled Jaune's heart with joy and gave him another boostvto continue slaughtering the Grimm.

She smiled back as she saw him, ducking down as Nora leapt over her to slam Magnhild crazily into the ground, cratering the surroundings and unbalancing the Grimm around them. Manic laughter rang out across the battlefield and Jaune couldn't help but join in even as Ren twisted around him to parry a leaping Beowolf's claws.

Now this....this was the life. Him, right in the thick of it with his team as they fought back the darkness.

And he was keeping up! In fact, he was leading them!

Him! Seventeen year old Jaune Arc, who faked his transcripts to get into Beacon and only had his Aura unlocked the day of Initiation, was leading them!

And the crazy thing was his team wasn't the only one he was leading!

Cheers started to ring out as Jaune saw other Huntsmen push with them. Cardin kicked over a Boarbatusk before skewering out its guts. Coco flew by on a bullhead and decimated the Nevermores with her machine gun.

He laughed a happy laugh as Team JNPR led the charge and slowly but surely, they pushed the Grimm out of the city.

All the skills he learned from both his dream and his own training were on display as they carved a path through the Grimm.

Eventually however, he lost himself in the battle, completely ignoring the fact that his teammates peeled away from him one by one before being replaced by others.

He was aware of it of course but he wasn't worried. He knew they can take care of themselves and as long as Jaune kept his Semblance active, the Grimm would be more focused on him instead of hurting them.

And so Jaune continued to fight, heedless of the fact that blood began to trickle down his nose.

The next time he leapt into the air, he grinned as he saw a drone fly in front of him.

"To understand why this young man is leading the fight, we must first understand why this fight was happening in the first place."

The image of his son fighting against the Grimm slowly blurred away as the map of Vale replaced him as Lisa came back on screen.

"For reasons unknown, a train containing members of the White Fang hit Vale during the early hours of the morning. Initial reports tell us that they used the underground railway system connecting Mountain Glenn and the City of Vale to each other as a means of transportation."

Gasps rang out from his family even as Nicholas' eyes narrowed at that

The White Fang. Mountain Glenn.

It's been a long time since he thought about those words. The former was when his own father secretly supported them and brokered a truce between them and the SDC-

White hair flowed with the wind as a sad smile shined on him.

Nicholas barely stopped the gasp of pain coming out of his throat as the memory assaulted his mind. He knew his wife was looking at him and he turned to only give her a sad smile in return.

He was lucky that he had an understanding wife because she only nodded at him before slowly reaching out to his shoulder to rub him softly.

He took the action for what it was, reassurance and comfort because more distressing than the thought of the White Fang and bitter memories was the trauma of Mountain Glenn.

His heart beat rapidly as he recalled his own involvement in that sad affair. Nicholas was old enough to have been a young man during the Fall of Mountain Glenn.

He wasn't green as a recruit but he alsonwasn't a grizzled veteran when shit had hit the fan.

His whole team, dead.

Civilians that he tried to save, crushed in front of his eyes as he tried to stop the Council from blocking off the underground railway system.

He could still hear the screams as the world collapsed around them.

For someone as young as him to see a scene like that? It left scars in his soul.

Only Juniper pulled him through those times and the only reason he stayed as a Huntsman after that? It was because he didn't know how to do anything else.

It was his hope that no one in his family would follow his path, alas, his son was already and facing his own trials and tribulations at an age Nicholas never did.

He bit his lip as an animation of a train crashing under Vale's Southern Wall was shown in the tv.

"Elements of the White Fang were encountered within the city the same time as Grimm started to pour in and it is here that our hero makes his involvement known."

Nicholas' eyes narrowed as Lisa continued. It was not a good look for the White Fang and the Faunus Cause in general as everyone saw a robot with White Fang markings face off with Winter Schnee. Before they could even show the fight however, a new scene came into view.

Nicholas blinked as seven figures appeared in a standoff.

Four against three and Nicholas took note of his son standing with three beautiful women.

He raised an eyebrow at that.

His team perhaps? If so, then he couldn't help but think how lucky his son was. Already, he could see a twinkle glistening in Juniper's eyes as their daughters gasped in shock and excitement.

"Pyrrha Nikos!"

"Weiss Schnee!"

"Hot catgirl!"

Eyes snapped towards his fifth daughter who only shrugged at them. "What? Someone needed to point her out."

Everyone shook their head ruefully at that as his two youngest kept their starstruck eyes on their only brother.

Nicholas approved at the protectiveness he saw in Jaune's stance. His shield up, sword at the ready, as he looked at his companions in concern.

He raised an eyebrow however when the screen paused and a circle formed around the people facing against his son.

"As you can see here, Adam Taurus, Hero of the White Fang, was spotted with Roman Torchwick, Criminal Mastermind of Vale, together with his partner."

Criminals. His son was facing criminals. Nicholas' eyes hardened at that even as Lisa Lavender continued.

"Not many of you will know however, that Adam Taurus, Hero of the White Fang, was the lover of Blake Belladonna, Daughter of Chief Ghira Belladonna, and Princess of Menagerie."

A circle formed on the cat faunus behind Jaune, highlighting her and informing everyone of her identity.

Blake Belladonna, so that is her name.

He could already see his daughters whispering to themselves, but he didn't care. What did a White Fang member's love life had to do Jaune?

Lisa answers that question however by showing what happened next.

"Blake Belladonna, who now happens to be the lover of Jaune Arc."

His daughters squealed as Jaune pulled the black-haired faunus beside him and leaned down to kiss her.

"Damn! Look at them go!"

"Was that tongue?!"

"I told you she was hot!"

""Kyaaaa!""

"Grandbabies." His wife whispered vehemently beside him as Nicholas amusedly raised an eyebrow at her.

Juniper only blushed but Nicholas himself couldn't help the chuckle that came out of his mouth as Jaune found love for himself.

That chuckle turned into a harsh choke however with what happened next.

"Jaune Arc, who also happens to be the lover of Weiss Schnee." Lisa Lavender announced with a grin as the video sped up itself before slowing down the moment Weiss Schnee approached for a kiss of her own.

If Nicholas thought he was hearing squeals earlier, then this time, his daughters were screeching together with their mother.

His jaw dropped when Jaune turned towards the Schnee and leaned down to kiss her. Things weren't done yet however because Lisa only bulldozed on with a grin.

"And also, Pyrrha Nikos."

Everyone watched as Jaune dropped Weiss Schnee onto her feet, leaving a deep blush on her face as he opened his arms to the redhead. True to form, Pyrrha Nikos approached for a kiss of her own just like the other two.

"Earning the ire of Adam Taurus and having the power to turn the tides, Jaune Arc took it upon himself to lure the Grimm, first, away from his injured lovers, and eventually out of the city."

They watched as his son glowed, luring the Grimm towards him before the image transformed itself into a map, showing Jaune's path from inside the city towards the breach and just beyond it.

"So who is Jaune Arc, you still ask? Well, there is no one else better to tell us about him than someone close to his heart."

Lisa suddenly blurred away from the screen before her voice called out from out of view.

"Over here!"

The screen shook before everyone was suddenly treated to the view of Pyrrha Nikos breathing heavily against a wall together with a black-haired man and an orange-haired woman.

She blinked in shock at them even as Lisa put a microphone to her mouth.

"Ms. Nikos! Please tell us about your lover, Jaune Arc!"

"I-what?!"

Nicholas chuckled at one of his son's lovers.

Lovers! His son had lovers! He didn't know whether to be mad, proud, or incredulous!

And judging by Juniper's face, she was in the same boat as him even as their daughters squealed towards the tv.

"Jaune Arc, tall, blonde, and handsome. He kissed you, Weiss Schnee, and Blake Belladonna. What can you tell us about him?" Lisa asked, making his daughters giggle as Pyrrha Nikos reddened.

"Jaune-what?! Jaune is-" She stuttered but a voice from the background cut every single noise down.

"-DOWN! JAUNE ARC IS DO-pzzt!"

That was the last thing he heard before the transmission was cut.

Nicholas paled as all mirth and joy was sucked out of the house. His wife suddenly gripped his hand tightly as their daughters tensed yet it was futile.

All they were treated to was the sight of a Pumpkin Pete commercial.

It was clear now that they wouldn't get more news from the tv and that left him with one option.

It was time to go to the City of Vale.

"Cut!"

Lisa heard the voice ring out from her earpiece. The sound causing her to wince even as panic seemed to rule all around her.

Pyrrha shoved past her, instantly running towards the sound of the voice that announced Jaune Arc was down with her team.

"Go! Get it on camera!" Lisa shouted, waving her hand towards her cameraman who nodded frantically even as she stumbled out of balance.

Her director from the news station however, appraised her of the situation even as she leaned against the wall Pyrrha Nikos was just leaning at.

"It's okay. The drones caught him passing out. He didn't even take a hit."

"Thanks, boss." She gasped, panting as she tried to catch her breath. "I knew it was only a matter of time."

Lisa Lavender was working since the early hours of the morning and she already felt like dying.

At least she had some breaks, Jaune Arc did not even have that luxury as he continued to fight. It was a miracle he lasted this long fighting. In fact, she expected him to crash out some time soon, too bad it just had to happen when she was just about to interview Pyrrha Nikos.

"Still, framing him as a hero did wonders to the ratings even if some people watching only came online to rant."

"They're probably angry about their idols getting plucked." She chuckled tiredly, closing her eyes as she sat back.

"Still, three women? Unbelievable."

"They're Huntsmen. They've always been a little unbelievable." Lisa shrugged as she heard her boss hum.

"Hmmm, you have a point. I guess I'll take this mess with online viewers than the mess with the police and the White Fang. At least we can air this out to the frontier villages unlike the shitshow the police started."

Lisa cringed at that. She wasn't there when shit had hit the fan on account of her following Jaune Arc but she did hear it from the other reporters who had to cover it when communications returned early in the morning.

Almost fifty people died, police and Faunus alike, before Huntsmen managed to restore order.

Apparently, it all started when police officers massacred Faunus civilians who reached the defensive line to hide from the Grimm.

Bang!

Emerald panted heavily as she hid behind a wall.

"Oh shit, oh fuck! Oh shit, oh fuck!" She mutterred as she heard screams of pain and panic outside.

"Kill them all! Don't let them get through!" A masculine voice yelled through a speaker and she was sure he was calling out to his radio too.

When Cinder told her to cause a little bit of chaos, she didn't expect she'd be able to do something like this. Who knew disguising one of the Faunus as a Beowolf to the Police Captain would spiral into something like this so rapidly?

Bang! Bang!

"But Captain Roger-"

"What are you waiting for, lieutenant?! They're monsters! Kill them!"

Bang! Bang! Bang!

There was nothing little here as the police shot unarmed Faunus while Emerald recorded with a shaky hand.

Note: Clearly, I underestimated how chaotic my schedule would be with a baby on the mix. Goodnight everyone. Thank you for your unwavering support.

Had to reread my own notes on the Arcs' backstories and how to tie them up in the story.

My headcannon is Jaune Arc was born 4th or 5th as an only boy. Mama and Papa Arc tried to have more sons so Jaune can have brothers but failed and instead had more daughters.

Anyways, two to three chapters to go!

Comments

Well that escalated quickly. It seems Ozpin or Ironwood need to get some handle on the news. As for jaune and the girls it sucks that ruby and yang are out of the fight right now, would love to see there thoughts on things. I'm either thinking JNPRWB are gonna go on the hunt for raven to find RY or possibly raven will drop them off at Tai. Good luck with the baby, can't wait to see more!
