Conjoining of Paragons Chapter 29
Added 2022-02-27 20:57:40 +0000 UTCThis was meant to be out a couple of days ago, but due to the number of drafts it took, plus losing several days of writing to personal obligations, familial obligations, and my dog having a health scare, it got pushed back a little bit.
This coming week will be PoP-focused, then I will return to CoP and pen at least 2 of the year’s last 4 chapters that next week.
If you guys want to keep up with all of that, make sure your Patreon membership renews tonight. If you signed up with a bank card, you will likely need to login tomorrow and manually re-subscribe. If you signed in with a credit card and have the ‘auto renew’ setting toggled on, you SHOULD be okay, but not necessarily. I encourage anyone who wishes to remain a patron to check back in tomorrow and just make sure Patreon hasn’t unsubscribed them because it has a tendency of doing that.
Finally, thank you all for the most successful month I have ever had on here. Your support means the absolute world to me and I intend to finish CoP year 1 in March, so here’s hoping that big month can top it.

I actually really quite enjoyed the chapter as is. Almost completely without dialogue, I felt that it had a focusing effect on me and sort of highlighted the importance of what was happening. I read it like when you're hyper focused and all background noise fades away. That's what this chapter and this duel were for me.

The webpages on ACI100.com don't update automatically. There are days when we can get the chapter up for Patreon, but the person uploading (usually my editor, Athena) is in a rush, running errands, or has to do things for her other job and can't put it on the table of contents page. When in doubt, I always reccomend going through the link directly to it on Patreon, and failing that, all links have a set format. In the future, all links are aci100.com/(fic abbreviation)(chapter number). So, for example, chapter 19 of CoP is aci100.com/cop19. Hope that helps!

It would be really interesting to see even a bit of Emily POV in the next chapter from the Duel, even as a flashback. I wonder what Dumbledore's reaction is going to be when he hears about the Priori Incantatem. Can't wait for the next chapter!

2022-02-27 23:42:28 +0000 UTCLoved the duel between Harry and Emily. Was very… cathartic? Some sort of feeling that I can’t quite describe. About whether or not to implement more dialogue between the two though, I feel like this chapter was more about Harry and what he was feeling and thinking while he prepared for such a monumental duel. Personally, I felt like that feeling was better communicated to me through the tone of the scene given Harry’s silence and inner thoughts. If there was going to be a dialogue scene, I’m not sure if that feeling would have been as intense as it was. Although a scene between his talk with Dumbledore and the duel might work, it certainly isn’t something that took away from the chapter.

2022-02-27 23:29:06 +0000 UTCAwesome chapter! I really look forward to when harry will start to see Emily as more then just Voldemort. As for the scene with Elena I feel like it would add more to the chapter tbh as well as some much needed growth in her character and her relationship with harry.
