Seacat Update 5 Coming This Week

Hello, the heroes.

Greetings from the land of evermorning. I thought I'd be making this pre-announcement post earlier in the month, but as usual with best laid plans ... the road is dark and strewn.

So, why so slow?

Well, there were two big things to do:

That said, the new layout is pretty. Look at this new spell:

All the mutations or corruptions are complete too. There's now around 60 of them total, each with ranks or multiple options:

The list of abilities is longer now, at #72 (hey, it'll reach 100 eventually, trust me):

And skills are up to #85. Every single #UVG skill is now elaborated. Every combat skill has multiple ranks.

So, there we go.

But it wasn't just that the projects were quite big. Moving house is a draining task, as you all surely know, and though I might try to push myself, I can't change the fact that working alone at home—even with a home office—is incredibly hard when batteries are low.

And low they were, after the move.

So it goes.

Oh, right. I also made a quantum acceptance speech in case I win the Ennies. I won't tell you how much time I spent on that ;).

—Cheers,
Luka

P.S. - oh, the cover picture. Right. That's an example of a finalized page from the Seacat book!

Yes. Precisely. This is the one with, well, things in it. Spells. Items. Etc. The goal is for it to be very easy to use and adapt with any d20 system. It's a _little_ harder with other systems, but not too much. Part of why I even started formalizing seacat was so I could use it as a sort of baseline to point to when I write "well, this thing is hard to do, and that's a level 5 enemy" ... or whatever.

Very nice - I'm starting to get the impression (I'm new to this project) that this book will have a lot of utility for us UVG-runners who aren't using Seacat?
