Vacation Art & Seacat Beyond the Black City v0.73

Dear Heroes!

Your patience, I thank most graciously and appreciatively. I had a lovely holiday and I had a lovely Seacat update planned for last Friday.

Then, my common perfectionism took over.

You see, besides making some art, I'd also figured out how to "fix" the equipment section of the book to a format that I both like and that fits the structure of other large sections (like Skills, Traits, and Spells).

Namely, an overview spread, like so:

Followed by a section now called "Trader's Catalogue" that lists specific examples of each kind of equipment.

For those looking closely, those are ... dense tables and layouts. The problem I ran into is that making such a detailed layout and structure ... recommended itself to a lot of thinking and planning, and I didn't complete the other spreads: consumables, adventuring, professional, and mobility gear.

But I was sure I could do it in just one more day!

I was sure of that on Thursday.

And Friday.

And Saturday.

And Monday.

Today I capitulated. I will hope you appreciate the 22 pieces of art and a few lovely spreads and tolerate the unholy mess that exists for now in the gear section of v0.73 of the seacat book!

Oh, there is one more spread I really like now ... the hero skeletons:

In particular, I love the contrast between the hero on the left, and the anguished avatar at right. That avatar piece, perfection.

Ok, and this treasure section is quite nice.

Other News

The one week vacation was lovely. We went to a dog-friendly resort and the dog had a lovely time and then so did we. We were also lucky - wrapped up just before the new covid wave really got going. I hope we get vaccinated on schedule ... in September or October.
We've got a heat wave / heat dome thing now. 37C during the day, dropping to about 27C at 5 a.m. It's quite rough, but as long as the power holds, our ac is keeping me alive.
I'm still planning to do Let Us In as an intro for Seacat, trust me. Soon.

I had something else I was going to say but it's late and ... I forgot what I meant to say. I'll add it to a comment if I remember, I guess.
Oh, right! We are nearly, nearly at 667 heroes on the stratometaship! We need to do something cool to celebrate. Ideas?
