Potentially, but that would be FAR harder for someone to be able to achieve without any preparations. If someone attempts to cling to their life(ki), they turn into a Martial Spirit. If anyone clings to their mind(mana), they turn into an Aeon. In order to turn into a World Spirit, they would have to cling to neither their life or their mind, and instead instinctively cling onto the energy of the world itself. That's something far less likely for someone in such a state of unprepared panic.
