... of 20.
Hello, Good Heroes!
/four hour intermezzo/
Again, hello! The baby is less cranky now. Wow, that was a sudden detour. Heh.
I think I had a whole long explainer, but, basically ... I have to confess. I betrayed myself of two weeks ago. This update is not "almost certainly going to be the finished Codex 2 and the first teasers of the Purple Land, sometime in mid March." ... nope, it's twelve finished and illustrated character paths from around the Circle Sea. (They go together with the UVG Guidebook in the previous post)
My idea with the way these are structured is to both provide NPCs for the referee (those named NPCs) with some cool treasure ideas (the items) and special abilities (those traits). On the other hand, those same traits and items provide a path a PC could follow (more or less).
Some of these paths you've seen before - but now have art. Some are completed and weren't before - the golem gained items. Some have finally come from Seacat to SDM - the weapon. And some are just new - the scion.
I'm honestly not 100% sure what detoured me from the Purple Land to finishing up more character paths. I got the map done and started sketching out factions and a plantation and then I wrote a story about an orangelander (didn't share that path yet because no art yet) and then I wrote the scion's equipment and then I decided to do a bit of cleaning up with the layout and then ... well, here we are! :laughingcryingemoji:
So ... there you go. Not all totally new, but together.
Let me know what you think of them in the comments or over on the discord (https://discord.gg/qMjsaxSgPn) or even in that big UVG facebook group that happened!
I'm hoping to see the first preliminary layouts next week. If all goes well, I hope to have that ready for sharing soon.
I'm on the hook for writing marketing copy for those ... if any of you have any weird or silly ideas for how to make folks interested in the lovely, colorful, not-at-all-dystopian world of the Circle Sea, I'm all ear-balls and eye-holes. Err. Other way around.
Honestly, soon! There's some art already ...

It's a Katterfly!
Take care, enjoy, and remember ... hm ... what was it. Anyway, have a lovely start to your springtime if you're in the northern hemisphere, where the plum blossoms are about to summon their fairies and make music under the fragrant moons.
