I can't believe it's only been three weeks since the last post. It honestly feels like six. I'm going to dive right into the news. If you just want the weird rpg goodies, scroll right to the attachments.

Ennie Nomination

First, the UVG 2nd Edition is nominated for an Ennie award for best interior art. That completely blind-sided me. This is the equivalent of the oscars for tabletop rpgs (including in being a popularity contest, haha), so your votes are very much appreciated.

Make sure to vote for all the roleplaying games, artists, and writers you've enjoyed (and that are nominated) over the year. It can seem like a small thing, but the visibility really helps the folks making these games for you.

Our Golden Age Backerkit Launching Soon

Five years after UVG ... I'm finally crowdfunding a book again. Well, two books. The Vastlands Guidebook (the complete rules for the UVG and OGA) and Our Golden Age (OGA) ... you know, the book I've been teasing in chunks over the last year and change.

Sign up to be notified on launch. We're going to try to cross-reference patreons with backers to get y'all a discount, so use the same emails as for the stratometaship.

Preparations for this launch are half of the reason I've been really slow getting a proper post together for my heroes this month. There's a lot of files to prepare before launch for all the stuff we want to make ...

... see, back in 2019 we launched the UVG with a book written and ... uh ... that was it. Everything came after. That made things pretty complicated, so this time we're aiming to have a lot more of the stuff much more nailed down.

The covers for the books are actually designed and the VLG is almost completely laid out already (thank you Gontijo) and should be ready to share by the time we launch. The VL Guidebook is going to be both a rulebook and a bit of a "retrospective" of my illustrations over the last decades. It's chock full of them.

Anyway, there's a bunch of stuff and you'll see it all very soon. Like I said, for more psychedelic roleplaying goodness, get notified on launch. Share the link, too. It really helps.

Moving

We finally wrapped moving to our new rental apartment. It was, as these things always are, a herculean undertaking with many surprises (mold!) and twists (leaks!) and turns (unexpected delays! expenses! cleaning!).

But it's done now. Oof.

So, yeah, that was the second part of why no proper update yet this month.

But, bonus, my new home office is brighter and a little larger. So, win?

And why move? Well, not least because my wife and I are expecting our second daughter at the end of this year. We've held off talking about it because we're old enough that the early months can be quite risky, but now we're just about halfway there and so far so good. The tests indicate the little one is well.

I've shared an ultrasound of her footsies in the discords (all heroes welcome, as per usual) and can confirm she has all ten little toes. It's really quite amazing.

I'm not sharing this just for the fun of it - it's also to point out that with soon-two babies in the household, this crowdfunding has an inherent delay risk. So, I (and everyone at Exalted) really, really appreciate your support but also understand if you prefer to sit out.

Anyway, I'll talk more about this in future, but for now ... enough. It's Saturday and I have to go build a few more block towers with Eggy 1.
