Good humans, behold (see header image with volume of glass and water for scale).
That’s a wrist brace.
I’d been experiencing some pain with certain motions of my left hand for some time and went to the doctor yesterday. After a physical exam he suspected a torn tendon, but after an X-ray and ultrasound, he figured out that I had torn the ligaments between my left ulna (the bone that sticks out on the outside of the arm, where it attaches to the wrist) and the triquetrum (the triangular bone on the outside of the wrist just below the ulna).
I suspect it was an old injury that got aggravated by catching and lifting small wriggling creatures over the last year.
I opted for the less invasive treatment, hence the brace for the next two weeks at least. We’ll see more after the next check up.
The good news is that I’m right handed. The bad news is I type two-handed.
This means that for the next couple of weeks I’ll be focusing on art for the OGA book, rather than text, editing and layout. C’est la vie.
I hope you enjoy the following pieces. There will be more in a couple of weeks and an update on the state of the wrist.
1. Chapter title art for Summons Unexpected, the opening adventure in Our Golden Age. Pencil, micron pens, colored pencils.

2. Portal church. Art for the portal encounters and events page. Pencil and brush pen on midori paper.

3. A void vessel from Long Long ago, with its dehydrated protohuman satellites. Pencil, Pilot kakuno fountain pen, red ink brush pen, digital cleanup.

4. Four NPCs from the Hollow House adventure in Our Golden Age. Butler (a lich?), Mako Papertoy (a soft golem), the Nemesis or an incarnation thereof, the Councilor (an agent of the ministry?). Blue pencil and Pilot kakuno fountain pen on midori paper.

5. Silent City observers. Fountain pen and brush pen on midori dot-grid paper. Blown out in photoshop.

For the heroes: you can see all the pieces on the discord and I'll make a big art post next week. For everyone else: you're welcome to join the patreon. We've got weird tables now and again :) ... (besides the other stuff).

This Color, What Is It, What Does It Do?
Scarabeo - Excessively iridescent. Combine with an extended subdermal neural net to add bioluminescent features to this paint. Warning. Eating too much of this paint may turn you into an octopus beetle.
Fordite Swirl - Long Ago autogolem colors swirled together, particularly toxic red, burning yellow, and luminous blue. May glow in the dark. Prolonged exposure may cause mutation. Do not eat.
Vantablack - A sepulcheral hue that absorbs so much light it appears flat and featureless. Great for hiding in the dark. Terrible for finding where you parked your vehicle.
Gibbon - A swinging, brachiating kind of hue, somewhere between pink, bone, and bile. It’ll make folks jump away from your wheels, horrified that its gunk might get on their handcrafted godskin shoes.
Splunge - Translucent gelatinous lifeform extract. Your vehicle now (slowly) devours dirt, bugs, leaves, and tickets stuck to its surface. Also, it is always mildly sticky to the touch and quite acidic to the tongue.
Red - The poor orcform’s black. It makes your vehicle a little bit faster than an identical vehicle that is not red. Also, it may impose a slight penalty to driving carefully.
Greige - The rich townform’s beige. It’s like beige, but classier, with less saturation. It makes you look slightly richer and more anonymous. Also, prolonged exposure depletes your aura, but that’s not like your actual colors are fading, is it? Is it?
Taupemarine - The ultramarine of mousy hues. It’s so stunningly mousy that mere seconds after seeing it, you’re likely to forget it. Great for blending into crowds and being forgotten. Also, boosts interactions with mice.
Crayfish - A lovely shade of blue-green that looks very cool and refreshing. Changes color with temperature, so you’ll always know when your pod-hauler has been made deadly by the noonday suns.
