Great Villain: Starting by Humiliating the Son of the Heavenly Fate Chapter 362: The Slap That Shook Heaven and Earth

"Stop it! All of this is a nightmare; it's all fake!" Mo Hao stared in wide-eyed confusion, muttering to himself.

"A nightmare? Fake?" Jiang Chen's lips twitched ever so slightly. Rolling his eyes, he slapped Mo Hao's face backhandedly with full force.

SMACK—!

The slap resounded, echoing between heaven and earth. Like a tattered doll, Mo Hao was sent flying, crashing violently into a towering mountain.

The mountain shattered with a thunderous crash, collapsing instantly.

"Aagh! Jiang Chen, you bastard! How dare you hit me?" Bursting from the cloud of dust, Mo Hao rushed toward Jiang Chen, his rage unparalleled.

Yet, just as he reached the halfway point, he was abruptly halted by a defensive barrier conjured with a simple wave of Jiang Chen's hand.

"Hit you? No, I'm saving you. Does the slap hurt? Is it still a dream?" Jiang Chen regarded Mo Hao with a series of icy chuckles.

Hearing this, Mo Hao was instantly taken aback. He said nothing but stared at Jiang Chen, wide-eyed.

He then gave Jiang Chen a long, intense look.

"Don't look at me that way. I'm only doing this for your sake," Jiang Chen said, his face tinged with a hint of an apologetic smile.

If Mo Hao still harbored anger, it meant he hadn't completely unraveled.

"No! I beg you, let me go! Stop holding onto me! My fate is none of your concern!" Mo Hao's face twisted in agony as he surged forward like a madman.

Jiang Chen immediately followed, flying beside Mo Hao like an unshakeable shadow. "Mo Hao, I may have disrupted your plans, but it wasn't intentional. Must you hate me so deeply?"

"Moreover, isn't a better opportunity presenting itself? I've always believed that while there's life, there's hope." Jiang Chen continued to implore Mo Hao, his face etched with genuine concern.

"Aagh! Enough, don't say another word." Mo Hao felt nauseated as he listened to Jiang Chen's relentless chatter.

Despite his anger, he couldn't shake off Jiang Chen and could only vent his frustration in a futile roar.

"Forgive my verbosity," Jiang Chen said solemnly, locking eyes with Mo Hao. "But Mo Hao, you must realize that all of this is real. You have to confront reality."

"An invaluable opportunity lies before you. Why wouldn't you seize it?"

"This could be the moment that changes your destiny," he added before falling silent.

High in the sky, the two continued to fly, side by side.

Gradually, Mo Hao's fury subsided as he began to consider Jiang Chen's words.

Two armies were poised for battle, their great powerhouses in the Nirvana Peering realm standing in stark opposition.

The war involved millions of humans and demons alike.

Pulling off a grand spectacle could indeed propel him to unprecedented heights in an instant!

Yet, shaking his head, he said begrudgingly, "Jiang Chen, you're mistaken."

"The Immortal Martial Continent doesn't just have two Nirvana Peering realm cultivators; there's a third!"

"Just recently, that individual eradicated a hundred-thousand-strong demon army in the Western Ice Realm with a mere cold snort!"

"With such a variable in play, the risks in this war are simply too high." Mo Hao grinded his teeth in frustration as he contemplated the mysterious powerhouse who had thwarted his grand chance for a dramatic rise.

What Mo Hao didn't realize was that the mysterious great powerhouse he spoke of was none other than Jiang Chen himself!

Feigning complete astonishment, Jiang Chen widened his eyes and opened his mouth in disbelief. "What? A third great powerhouse in the Nirvana Peering realm has emerged on the Immortal Martial Continent? How... how can that be?"

"Believe it or not, the fact remains: this war is fraught with uncertainties. I don't want to fall short once again when I'm already halfway through!" Mo Hao inhaled deeply, his tone tinged with indifference.

"Really?" Jiang Chen mused, stroking his chin thoughtfully. "Even if there's a third great powerhouse in the Nirvana Peering realm who has slaughtered a hundred thousand demons, isn't that beneficial since they're on the side of humans? Wouldn't it expedite the elimination of demons?"

"Then we could proceed to the Prosperous Stone Immortal Star, the true sanctuary where cultivators ought to reside. Don't you yearn for that?" he continued, a persuasive tone coloring his words.

"The Prosperous Stone Immortal Star..." Mo Hao clenched his fists, deep in thought.

His family had been decimated on the front lines, receiving neither compensation nor sympathy. Even their home had been confiscated, and he himself had been banished to the Immortal Martial Continent to survive on his own.

Going back to the Prosperous Stone Immortal Star for revenge, to vindicate himself—that had always been his primary goal.

Yet, he was paralyzed by fear. Fear of failure, fear of taking that decisive step.

Suddenly, "Roar!!" A dragon's roar reverberated from a distance, growing louder as it neared. A colossal divine dragon then appeared, its massive form blotting out the sky as it approached.

"What! A true dragon!? There's an actual dragon here in the Immortal Martial Continent? You can't be serious!" Jiang Chen stared at Ying Luo, his mouth wide open, feigning both disbelief and apprehension.

"Hey, human boy! What's got you dashing around like a madman?" Ying Luo addressed Mo Hao, deliberately avoiding eye contact with Jiang Chen so as not to give anything away.

"It's none of your concern," Mo Hao shot back, giving Ying Luo a complicated look.

The divine dragon before him was magnificent. What an incredible mount it would make!

But he was a failure, perpetually coming up short. He had faltered numerous times in just the span of a month.

"Ah, I see," Ying Luo said, a knowing tone creeping into her voice. "You're upset with my big brother for wiping out those hundred thousand demons, aren't you?"

"As it happens, that person is my big brother. He's here to take me home because I ran away." Per Jiang Chen's earlier directives, Ying Luo spoke in an apologetic manner.

"What? He's your big brother?" Mo Hao exhaled, a glimmer of relief appearing in his heart.

He had initially schemed against Ying Luo. Now, learning that the dragon's elder brother had come—no less a powerhouse in the Nirvana Peering realm—he felt a pang of dread. If that individual knew what he'd been contemplating, wouldn't he be pulverized into oblivion?

"Yes, that's my big brother. I truly apologize. Concerned for my well-being, he exterminated those demons, inadvertently foiling your plans," Ying Luo acknowledged, nodding its massive dragon head. "I've already negotiated a few extra days from him. He'll wait for me beyond the continent's borders."

"Wow! A true dragon in the Nirvana Peering realm!" Jiang Chen couldn't help but exclaim, then asked eagerly, "So, your big brother is really waiting outside the continent? Does that mean he won't meddle in the Immortal Martial Continent's affairs?"

"Mm," Ying Luo affirmed with a succinct nod.

"Did you hear that?" Jiang Chen said, patting Mo Hao on the shoulder with excitement. "Her big brother isn't going to interfere with what's happening on the Immortal Martial Continent. That variable is now null and void. You can breathe easy!"

"If that's true, then it could actually work," Mo Hao clenched his fists, grinding his teeth, as a spark of hope ignited in his eyes.

"Then it's settled. Let's head to the Pure Frost Domain to partake in this grand battle and make names for ourselves!" Jiang Chen nodded enthusiastically, then leaned close to Mo Hao's ear and whispered, "Is this true dragon your friend? I must say, I'm rather envious."

"Heh heh. Yes, my friend; we've fought together." Mo Hao cracked a slight smile and whispered back into Jiang Chen's ear, a touch of smugness coloring his words.

Though currently irked by Jiang Chen, seeing him envious of his relationship with the dragon did offer Mo Hao a small sense of victory.

"Wow, I really am envious," Jiang Chen chuckled, his eyes twinkling with a subtle, playful glint.

Of all the acts Jiang Chen has perpetrated, encouraging a broken and depressed man just so he can once again trample on that hope and murder him has to be the most evil one.
