Instead of Buying to Close a covered call contract, can I just let it expire and save that last $1.00 that I would have to pay to close? Hope that makes sense.

Hi everyone, I have been I. The stock market for about one year as I am still learning how to be patient, buy once market goes down, dollar average the good stocks, sell outs and cover calls.

Hi Kartik, In the Long Column, should the "Buy to Close" be +1 and "Sell to Close" -1? Is it the opposite way round in the spreadsheet? Have I understood it right :)

It’s hard to know what’s a high or low price. Generally, I look at the underlying stock and whether it’s overbought or oversold. Those conditions can tell you a lot about the options prices

Thanks for the explanation! How do you know when the contract price is high? For example in CC how do I know I'm getting the highest premium I can for a specific strike and exp date? Is there an indicator or other way to determine if it's a high premium since they constantly change? Thanks
