I'm sorry this catastrophe happened to you. I will make a contribution to you to (hopefully) speed up your family's recovery.

Jeff hope things get upgraded and your back online soon! Your videos are a wealth of knowledge.

I also signed up. Your channel has been a huge help in getting my own Pi-hole server setup and a freenas plex media center (soon to be truenas, if the upgrade works)

I just signed up after seeing the flood video.

Upped my tier a little and feel free to dm if you want. Idk how much help I could be, I hate to see this happen.

Oh no man I am sorry to hear that. If you need some plumbing work I can guide you through it. I was a commercial union plumber/welder in Seattle until an injury, but I’ve retained most of the knowledge. I know how expensive it can be and I know that I could probably only be useful for how to’s. Flip all the breakers off for the sump and the lower level there also. Lighting might be ok.

Joined up because of this, used to be in the insurance industry. Details on claims matter. Good start getting water restoration company in fast, removing water as soon as possible helps limit the damage (not for the tech though), and is almost always covered. Insurance companies generally consider wet tech complete loses. Post restoration consider a water alarm independent of your pump and it’s backup. Depending on your state it might keep your premiums down.

Good Luck with water. Flooding is never fun.

Signed up straight after seeing the video! Hope you can make a quick recovery!

Crappy day for you - so I subsrubed to your patreon to help out - as you have helped me learn useful things and inspired me try new things for my own IT work life. Thank you sir!

Hi. I just finished my new house and I was obsessed with anti-flood and anti-whatever else devices. Now when I see your pain I feel a little bit better about all the time I spent planning. But I got my spare time because of your videos helping me out and saving my a$$ many times. So thank you for your efforts and your dedication. Keep posting videos about the process of repair and rebuilding the whole house, not just the tech part. I would gladly watch and help. I just became a patron so you can count on my 4 bucks several times per month if needed.

Shuffled my other subs around so I could fit you in. I know what it's like to flood out. I hope your homeowners insurance will help you out.

https://www.reddit.com/r/personalfinance/comments/43iyip/our_family_of_5_lost_everything_in_a_fire/cziljy3 Helpful info for insurance claims. Good luck with cleanup and repairs. Is there a way to donate directly or only Patreon monthly?

Doug Luedtke

That sucks man, good luck with the cleanup and hopefully all the insurance comes through. Sump failures are no joke :-(

Damn.... Good luck with the cleanup and hope there isn't too much damage.

Man, I have had flooding issues before, both natural and pipes bursting. I sympathize. It seems like the struggles you had in the recent videos seem obsolete. I lost an old SGI machine, among other stuff, in a basement flood. I was told it was used by Whirlpool in the 90s to make commercials but I suspect it was likely used to design parts. Never got to really play with it as I still needed items for me to use it.
