My favorite part of this episode is Gilly’s callback to Season 1, calling Sam a wizard, what he always wanted to be, when explaining how reading sounds like magic.

When everyone was passing the plate with bread and salt, they were taking part in what’s known as guest right. The lord of the house provides food and guarantees your safety under their roof. Uh, normally. I was eating same time you were and my sammich was fucked up too. Arya’s line about sword through your eye and out the back of your skull is one of my favorites in the whole series. GoT isn’t any nicer to horses than TWD is. I was CTFU at you yelling at the bird. Way back at 2x5, I wrote in my notes that you would love Brienne. I don’t think I mentioned her name to you, to avoid spoiling, but I knew she’d be a favorite for you. Add Roose Bolton’s name to your list. He was a Stark bannerman and he’s the one who stabbed Robb in the heart. Cat’s wail of anguish is heart wrenching no matter how many times you hear it. The immediate aftermath is kinda brutal so take your time so you’re ready for the next one. Get you like 10 empty water bottles to crunch. You will find joy in this show again, and perhaps sooner than you think.
