The landscape in these mountain villages are a stark contrast to those down in the valley floor. Steep arid mountain slopes give way to a plateau like landscape with gentle rolling hills and meadows with numerous fresh water springs. Each of these villages is located right in midst of such meadows and usually have a few majestic snow capped peaks towering over them.
