Thank you Patrons

Hello Everyone,

India in Motion crossed a small but important milestone of 100K subscribers recently. And it wouldn't have been possible without your support on Partreon. So I wanted to make this video to thank you all and explain how I use your contributions to improve my work. It is no exaggeration when  I say that I wouldn't have been able to get this far without your support. Thank you so much!

You are welcome Anoop. Thank you for your support. And please feel free to message me if you need any help, information etc. Thanks again and take care.

Hi Saravana, I just have joined your patron network! Your recent video, where you talked about your journey has made a profound impact in me. Thank you so much 🙏🏻

Thanks so much for your awesome videos! I have spent much time in India and the Himalayas captured my heart! You make it come alive for me...India in Motion is vital to preserving the history of the people and the beauty of the natural world. And you are the one to do it. Many blessings!

Thanks Kunal. Will definitely keep NE on my list. I would love to spend some time with the Yak Herders in Sikkim. That has been high on my list for a while now. Just need to figure out the necessary permits to stay with them for a few weeks.

Hey man I just joined. I have nothing much to say but you make awesome videos! Also I would like you to explore north east India after you are done with ladakh and himachal. Cheers.

Hmm.. Yes David. Lahaul is indeed very special but I still havent had a chance to explore it fully. I have a few friends from Lahaul now and they are also encouraging me to come make videos of their homeland. I hope to do it soon, maybe next year after the pandemic subsides. I cant even imagine how Lahaul must have been like in 1985.

Thanks for supporting me Arjun. Really appreciate it. Hmm.. About the Dragonfly , yes it is expensive. But I have had it for over 10 years and used it thousands of times. So in the end it is well worth the cost. I usually buy these things during the Black Friday sale in the US. You get around 25% discount during that sale. And it is when I pick up most of my gear and usually a lot of friends and family travel to India during November. So someone or the other will bring it to me. I'am lucky in that way to have many contacts living in the US. As for alternatives,I have not seen any liquid fuel stoves in India. You have to use gas canisters only. And they become expensive if you are going hiking regularly. The other option is to just burn wood. There are simple wood burning stoves available on AliExpress for cheap. Maybe you can try them. I will make a video about different types of fuel/cooking methods soon.

You'll definitely come out stronger Saravana, all the best and all of us will keep supporting you. Also, I'd request you to please make a descriptive video on dragonfly stove, the same stove is super expensive in India and there are no good alternatives, not that I know of. So what do you think should be a good option for a long hike, light in weight and fuel is readily available.

Saw your nice thank you video. Big picture love the antithesis to the motorcycle-bro approach (those guys are nice too....). Since you mentioned requests for future vids, here are few: Lahaul religious site and kora hikes: see if you can get the locals to show you around. You are right in one of your vids, Lahaul is very special. When I went there in May 1985 (yup long ago) there was a great calendar up in the dhabas: the Lahaul Potato Grower's Association. And each month featured a photo of: wait for it: a killer waterfall. There are tons of amazing waterfalls! I hope it is not changed for the worse with Rohtang tunnel. Maybe some of those other side valleys off the Chandrabhaga/Chenab other than the Miyar nala. Miyar is very beautiful but I have been there twice so please show us a little of a few other side valleys to the north or south. You know where Darcha is: there are like 4 valleys that come together there: maybe some exploring up the one what is not Bhaga uphill, not Bhaga downhill, and not Zanskar Sumdo to Shinku la: the OTHER one that goes I think southeast up into the big big mountains. I really like your vids about Kinnaur culture. Of course as a foreigner and non Hindu or Buddhist I have a hard time putting the yatras or pilgrimages into context. So maybe vids where you go with the Shiva dudes to Kinnaur Kailash or Shirkhand Mahadev or places like that and try to give us some cultural and historical info, or similar to Buddhist sites. Have you been to Lhalung village and gompa near Tabo? I am a little curious about snow leopard tourism in Spiti and I know you covered this a bit already. I hope you can get back traveling and continue your videography . If you look on youtube with my last name and India you can see a few vanity vids. Phir milenge, aasha hai ki someday hum milenge.

Thanks Shankar

thanks Ashish

Congrats Saravana. When I first started watching your videos I thought it is some production company which is making short films on Leh and Ladakh lifestyle. You have really done an amazing job. Your videos are kind of virtual tour to Himalayas and their lifestyle.

Congratulations on this milestone, Saravana. Thanks for sharing your story. Really admire your tenacity, and your work speaks for itself. All the best.

I wasn't really into philosophy earlier when I started all this. But now my experiences have taught me otherwise. I did not set out to do any of this and it is funny how life has a way of showing you the way. Hopefully I make the right choices in the future as well. Thank you so much for your support and all the best to you as well.

Thanks Amar

Thanks Abhash. Really appreciate it. I haven't spent much time on insta today. Will check out your post tomorrow. Thanks so much for your support.

Just moved myself up to the $10 tier. I had no idea about your story. Love your work, Saravana. Let me tell you your videos matter - I have found calmness during this pandemic while watching your videos. Keep at it. I just gave you a shoutout on my Insta stories. I will try and do a Twitter thread tomorrow morning to see if I can bring more attention to your YouTube channel. You will come out stronger on the other side. We're all here with you 😇

All the best for your future, full support from us. Keep going

Congratulations Saravana for this big achievement ! Thank you so much for working hard to put up the videos for all of us. I personally live by the principle that life teaches us lessons at every step and you seem to be adapting and excelling this principle very well. Please let me know if I can be of any small help in you big journey to awesomeness.
