Many single purpose machines continued working according to their original goals, construction, cooking, farming and the like but as infrastructure was already broken down they found themselves unable to continue working.
Various androids found themselves alone, forced into small communities as some of them went 'rabid' as they broke down. Others stayed sane but with no new parts being manufactured they required new maintenance solutions. Old parts were scavenged into their bodies, leading to mismatched creatures. Sometimes they could not rely on the parts of their fallen kind and instead resorted to using older machine parts, leading to a greater variety among Earth's new people.
