Sponsor transparency report

What is this about?

The following is a transparency report about the sponsorship deal with Geode Host that just started. For ethical reasons and considering that the bulk of EliteMobs’ income comes from your patronage, I have decided to create a transparency report for my sponsorship with Geode Host to clear any questions you might have.

Due diligence:

Last month I was approached by Geode Host to promote their Minecraft-focused hosting services. I was given full access to an account on their services, where I tested setting up servers, installing EliteMobs content, the quality and speed of their support and general performance.

Furthermore, I investigated their reputation and how their pricing compares with their competitors.

Having concluded that their services are legitimate and of good quality, we negotiated pricing and promotional details.

Promotion details:

The final agreed upon contract involved posting a promotional message on Discord announcements and leaving a banner up on Spigot. The promotional period will last 1 month.

While I was provided images and a sample text to work with, both the banner and the text that accompany it are of my own making, in my own words and are representative of my beliefs about their product.

The sponsorship’s success will be measured by the number of times the code MAGMAGUY-30OFF is used on checkout when purchasing a subscription. Further (but less important) metrics will be provided by measuring the success of the affiliate link https://geode.host/?mtm_campaign=magmaguy .

The remuneration for this sponsorship was an upfront payment and I do not get a percentage of the sales. If successful, the sponsorship may be expanded to a licensing deal (more in “The near future” section).

Where is the money going?

The money received from Geode Host will be used to further develop the Primis map, specifically in these points:

- Pay 69OzCanOfBepis for his work on the mapmaking side of things

- Buy 1 can of Red Bull (in picture)

- Hire more 3d artists to create more custom models for later bosses

- Pay for spoon_knightt ‘s playtesting of all EliteMobs dungeons, including Primis (to make sure things are balanced)

- Hire a professional voice actor (this one, actually) to do a professional voice over narration for the teaser trailer of Primis

- If possible, hire more builders to work on Primis (this is not as easy as it sounds).

- Pay me (with whatever money is left)

The near future:

We are still in negotiations over potential redistribution rights of Primis and The Oasis that Geode Host may be interested in getting. This would mean that, at some point in the future, you might be able to get free access to The Oasis and Primis if you are using their host. This would not affect any of the normal means of distribution, only add to them.

This licensing deal, however, is not set in stone, and depends on the performance of this first promotion. Since it can’t be promised, it wasn’t mentioned in the promotional messages.

I would like to thank Geode Host for their sponsorship. This is a great way to grow EliteMobs, and if this trend of sponsorships continues, I will most likely start hiring people to help me work on EliteMobs full time which would drastically improve things.
