The Invention of Safety Coffins

There should be a video displaying above... but Patreon doesn't seem to like shorts. I've gotten in touch with Patreon support and they say that it's a problem on their end, and that they're working on it, but that they have no idea when it will be fixed. So, in the meantime, here's a link to the video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0F8lIl9bXv4. Thanks for your patience!

In this video I show a plaque which tells the story of Alice Blunden, who may have been buried alive in 1674. It's questionable whether or not this actually happened... but you can read a description of the incident extracted from the book History of Basingstoke on Alice's Wikipedia page. Be warned, though, it's a pretty chilling story!

Sounds like a plan - I reckon pigeons in general have pretty good lives as these things go. Certainly the ones near where I live have plenty to eat and lots to keep them busy. Reminds me of a thing I've heard lots of people say, which is that robins are actually relatives who have passed on coming back to check on you. When you see a robin, it means they're checking in to make sure you're okay!

With my luck though? I’m coming back as a sunfish 😂

I want one specifically so that if I get reincarnated as a pigeon (I’ve got some scores to settle and windshields to poo on), if someone stands on or fiddles with my grave I’m gonna peck the bell and scare them. Additionally, I’d do it to mess with my kids. They’ll know it’s a joke bc mom ain’t 💩, and the mental image of hearing a bell and then “GOD FLUFFIN DANG IT MOM WE GET IT THE FEEDER IS EMPTY!” is hysterical to me 😂
