Only a few thousand BEANO T-13s were ever manufactured, and very few survived the war. Some were used. Some were lost. Some were recalled and destroyed by the military. They’re now so difficult to find – and such an oddity – that they fetch quite high prices at auction.
A few recent auctions I looked at saw the grenades selling for between $200 and $400. I don’t collect military memorabilia, so I don’t have much to compare it to. But, for me, that’d be a high price to pay for a historical item that I’d be constantly nervous about having in the house!

That is quite a story. Cannot believe I've never heard of this until now! It's on the list. As you say, would make an interesting episode around Christmas time
