The Sinking of the Oceanos

Incredibly, the sinking of the Oceanos was not the only cruise ship disaster that Moss Hills survived. He was also present just a few years later in 1994 when the MS Achille Lauro caught fire and eventually sank. Once again Moss assisted by organising and guiding passengers into lifeboats.

At one point he even risked his life by heading back inside the burning ship to try and retrieve essential medication for one of the passengers. He was unsuccessful, and almost got trapped below during the attempt, but made it back out and went right back to helping with the evacuation.

Once again, he was one of the last to leave the doomed ship. And, once again, despite being in two sinkings in four years, he went back to work on cruise ships afterwards. I can’t help but think of the old saying about "bad things coming in threes". I wonder if he spent the rest of his career waiting for the third and final sinking to happen?

Counterfeit aircraft parts! That's an issue I'd not even considered before - will give this one a look for a future video :)

Fascinating Horror

It's crazy how the entertainers (who would never have expected to have to deal with any of this) leapt straight into action... whereas the Captain, who should have been the most prepared totally crumbled!

Fascinating Horror

As a sometime actress, I am impressed with the actions of the entertainers on the ship. They stepped up and lent a hand when it was needed. No two ways about it. Captain Yannos was a waste of good oxygen.

I'd like to see a video on Partnair Flight 394. The crash was primarily caused by maintenance error, and more specifically the use of counterfeit aircraft parts used as part of a previous repair. This is also the deadliest plane crash in Danish history. Here's the episode of Mayday about Flight 394: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_1-GNGnaiw
