I think it would be interesting to see the world that Iliana was in before she was a queen. Was it a city-state system? Chains of small villages? Serfs and lords? Were there powers she had to overcome, or was she the first empire-builder? How did other ponies interact with the Tribe of Bones, long before the shadow of Iliana's armies fell on them? Where did the steelhearts come from? Was there a specific creator, or were they a people who always existed but only became known when the ponies found them? What prompted the establishment of their factories and especially Kollective 23? Why was it called that? Were their 22 previous Kollectives? How did clockwork ponies become a thing, and what leads to them being more "alive" than plants in metal shells? I'm just randomly spitballing ideas and various things that I find fascinating and interesting, take what you like of them.
