The Future of OpenShot
Added 2016-12-27 21:01:04 +0000 UTCThank you again for supporting OpenShot! I am very excited at the prospects of Patreon helping fund the future development of OpenShot and tons of awesome improvements! Over the past many years, this project has litterally gone from nothing to something really special, and I couldn't have done it without your support.
I will be sharing (on Patreon) some fun behind the scenes info and photos, asking for input on key decisions, and posting occasional polls, to help guide the direction of new features and improvements.
Now that OpenShot has the foundation built for Windows, Mac, and Linux, and is pretty stable now (at least on my test systems), I'm really looking forward to focusing on the following things:
- More pollish in the UI (there are still lots of rought edges and confusing tasks)
- Ability to transform videos with mouse (similar to an image editor), just drag and drop, resize, rotate, scale, etc...
- Improved vector and 3D titles (seasonal, topical, and more professional)
- Better stability (especially on slower systems, which tend to crash more often)
- Improved error handling (better stack traces, including line numbers, debug symbols, etc... When something crashes, I want to be able to quickly identify the problem and fix it)
- In summary, more pollish, easier to use, vastly better title templates, easier video transformations, and better stability
As always, feel free to message me or email me anytime, but please keep in mind I might not respond back in a timly manner, but I will do my best.
