News: January 2025

Decided to include a few previews of DI's menus. You might find them kind of boring. The good news is, menus are done! Now I can focus pretty much entirely on adding content to the game.

I'll go over some of the previews. The map screen's background will vary based on your current combat companion. The top right buttons are for the inventory, quest log, and companion menus. You'll notice that these are available in some other locations as well. The bottom buttons are how you navigate to new locations from the map. There will be more than just 2, but that's all there is right now. The blank one is placeholder because that location hasn't been rendered yet.

In the inventory, you can adjust your gear by either clicking on the icons on the left or the icons in the middle when viewing the equipment tab. Companions are also set here. The right side will show details of whatever icon you click on, with various buttons like equip or use. The left side shows your MC portrait, equipment/companions, and party stats. (Will likely make a few tweaks before the first release, like adding the MC's name, gold, etc.)

The quest log will show your quest info when you click on the quest name from the left side. Quests haven't been added yet, so the image is pretty bare. All of the groundwork is in place though. Just need to add the quests to the quest log as they get added to the game.

The companion menu is rather similar to the inventory. The main difference is that you can not adjust your main party companions here. Instead, this menu is for interacting with your companions. After clicking the Talk button, you will be able to talk to them, advance their quests, and/or romance them. (Still some placeholder text in the preview.)

The camp is your first hub-type location. Each hub will be different, but will have the same design. Other locations, such as towns or cities, will have more options than the camp. You are automatically fully healed when entering the camp, no silly excess clicks. The camp background has several variants. More are unlocked as the game progresses. (The camp options in the preview are not complete.)

Anyways, as noted, I've begun working on the actual content for the game now that the menus are finally done. No previews just yet.

The poll for the next TOT ended in a 3 way tie. I've decided to let everyone vote in a flash poll as the tie-breaker. Be sure to vote on that one.

The TOTs themselves seem to be rather well received. DI has reached the point where the majority of development time will be the renders. This may end up conflicting with the TOTs, as they are pretty much entirely just renders and short stories that I don't spend a ton of time on. If the TOTs continue to do well, I'll simply balance them out. If DI's first release shows a lot of promise, the TOTs may end up dialed back a bit in favor of more DI. We'll get to that when we get to it, I suppose.

Finally, the full version of That One Time: Librarian will be removed from Patreon rewards when TOT #4 is released. That will be February 1st. Each new TOT will follow the same rules. The full version will remain available on itch.io. Only the 3 most recent full versions are available as Patreon rewards. The demos will remain as they are.

Thank you as always!
