I've Been Cultured
Added 2024-07-25 23:00:03 +0000 UTCSometimes I need to be cultured by the people I know. I didn't grow up watching a lot of silly movies. Even as a kid it tended to be the more self-serious stuff, unfortunately. But now thankfully, I get to go back and see all the movies I wasn't exposed to as a kid. Whether it's AUSTIN POWERS or ZOOLANDER. Adore them all. But most recently I finally saw the one that had eluded me all these many years. You can now rest a little easier......because I have now officially seen DUMB AND DUMBER. :D

Jim fought the studio really hard to keep him instead of recasting with another comedian. Siskel and Ebert's review of this was quite funny too.

2024-07-26 06:34:03 +0000 UTCOne of the few Jim Carrey comedies I haven't and have no interest in seeing. I can enjoy silly movies if they're done without insulting my intelligence and don't rely on bathroom, stereotype, or Saturday morning cartoon level humor which unfortunately a lot of comedies from that era relish in. I'd recommend Eight Legged Freaks if you want to see a good dumb movie from that time which is a satire and love letter to 1950s B movies. Also, Scarlett Johansson is in it when she was a teenager and in one scene she tases her boyfriend in the balls for trying to go all the way with her and later gets tied up by a giant spider.
