What I'm Working On #014

Sul-sul!  I'm back with an update on how I've spent my modding time this week.

Marksmanship

This week in the Marksmanship mod, I worked ahead on the other hunting animations, the skill, and the objects.

Rabbits can now meet their untimely demise.

There are now three lengths of targets, and all of the animations got updates so as your skill increases, you're more likely to hit more of the targets, and the VFX match where you're shooting.

It's also now possible to shoot with pistols instead of rifles.

Once you catch an animal, it will appear in your Sim's inventory, and there will be an option to Carve Meat.  If you have Ye Olde Cookbook, the associated interaction from the animals you get when hunting through the rabbithole will also appear.

I'm nearing the bugfix stage of this mod, and one cute (but annoyingly persistent) bug is that the animals sometimes hitch a ride on top of each other.

Next, I have to finish making and texturing the rest of the weapons, and create the Like/Dislike.  Once the mod is done, I will look at porting the hunting mechanic to the Archery mod.

Flute

This week in the flute mod, I started work on the animations and finished textures for the concert flute.  I will also be making a wooden flute for those who play earlier eras.  :)

Thank you to all for your support and well-wishes! It means the world to me!

Hey! This is a great idea. I never really know how to thread the balance of making things that work for both historical and modern saves. If you have specific bow/rifle makes, would you be able to link a picture? :)

Hi Jane! As an active user and great fan of your mods, could I ask you about little favor, to add some modern weapon in this mod and modern bows to archery mod? A lot of people, who plays modern reality would like to use this mod for hunting gameplay, or use archery mod to gameplay with scout sims...

Hey! Yes they will be! There's just an extra interaction for players who use Ye Olde Cookbook but it is by no means required and will only show up if you have the other mod installed. Otherwise you'll just get the regular wrapped meat or poultry ingredients depending on the animal and size. :)

Hey, Jane. I know some aspects of the Marksmanship mod may distress some folks, so I apologize in advance, but I would like a clarification. If we don't have Ye Olde Cookbook installed, would the Carve Meat interaction produce the game's wrapped meat ingredients? I only ask because I like for my Sims to be as self-sufficient as possible, so it would be a great if they could obtain those ingredients from the Carve interaction.
