Regency Romance 1.05 Update (Careers, Animated Fans)

I've come to realize that any mod will take at least twice as long as I think it will!  Thank you so much for your patience, encouragement, and support to help me bring this mod to life, and I hope you enjoy this month's update.

UPDATE 10/28/22: Thank you to the anon who reached out on Tumblr and let me know of some bugs.  1.05.02 should fix balls not ending, stop romantic dancing showing up for family, and a string issue on the Incomparable trait.

NEW FEATURES:

Animated Fans

• Gentry ladies will now autonomously use fans.  This interaction is found under the new Regency pie menu by clicking directly on your Sim.
• There are four interactions that use fans: "Fan Self" (with 3 animations depending on mood), "Flirt With Fan", "Slap With Fan" (found under Mischief category), and "Society Gossip" (found under Friendly).
• Choose a fan color by purchasing a fan from Buy Mode and swiping it into your inventory.  Change colors by selecting "Preferred Fan" on the object in your inventory.
• I also plan to release a version of these fans that doesn't require Regency Romance, for Simmers who play other eras.

Servant Career

• This career has four possible branches: maid, footman, cook, and gardener. Wages are intentionally low for obvious reasons.
• Each career has a new work uniform that is a simple edit/recolor of a game mesh.  These are admittedly less Regency-era - but I did my best for my first adventure into CAS mods!
• Servants have new animated cleaning interactions: "Scrub Floor", "Polish Silver", and "Mend Clothes".
• Servants will automatically be given a trait which stops them from reacting to scandal and stops them from interacting with Gentry Sims autonomously.

Military Careers

• There are three "branches" of this career, but they are all listed as separate careers for gameplay purposes: Enlistee, Army Officer, and Naval Officer.
• Any Sim can enlist as a soldier, but in order to join the Army or Navy you must first purchase an Officer's Commission from the mailbox.
• Every Friday, Sims who go to work will be sent to Battle, and there is a chance your Sims may perish in the line of duty.  Enlisted soldiers are the most at risk (never more than 20% odds), but your risk decreases with higher Fitness and Logic skills and promotions.
• Soldiers will be named by their military ranks in Lady Whistledown.  Hello, Captain Wentworth!

House of Lords Career

• This career is only available to those who have a Seat in the House of Lords.  Members of the Aristocracy only need to claim it from the mailbox, while Gentry Sims can purchase one at a discount.
• This career adds new interactions to the Parchment Paper object: you can now Review Proposed Legislation or Draft Bills for a nice bonus.

General

• Sims can now "Practice Writing" on the Parchment Paper object.
• There is a new interaction that I find really useful - you can now mark any dining table as a Serving Table, and have a Sim deliver food directly to that table by clicking on the dish.
• There is another new interaction: "Bodyweight Workout".  This allows you to work out without using fitness equipment, and Sims will do situps and pushups from where they stand.

Bugfixes:

• Sims will no longer cause a scandal if they kiss their fiancé, or kiss during their marriage.
• Buffs from reading Lady Whistledown now have timers and will automatically disappear after a few Sim hours.
• I'm still investigating a bug where an estate didn't pass down to the heir on a death - this only seems to happen if you aren't playing either of the Sims at the time (the deceased or the heir).  In the meantime, I've added new cheats to create an estate and add land and improvements to hopefully mitigate any lost time spent building your estates!
