April Preview #1 - Where it all began

Hey Gang!

After a quiet February, we’re back with our regularly scheduled previews, and today we’ve got a peek at the return of an ossified and terrifying foe that you’ll all be familiar with - the Ancient Scythrians of the Burial Isle.

It’s been a real pleasure returning to these mummified creeps, who first arrived in the Corrupted Ambrosia collection way back in February 2021, before becoming part of the Welcome Pack. We hope you’ll all be really pleased with what we’ve cooked up, we’ve focused on expanding this collection with a host of valuable new options, and revealing more about this lost kingdom.

Let’s dive into the designs!

First up, here’s the Scythrian Highguard, brute-guardians of the risen Priesthood, their smooth armour and curved kopesh are shaping up to be a powerful contrast for the ossified flesh of their dead bodies.

These Blood Golems iterate and expand upon one of the classic Burial Isle sculpts - the Animate Blood. These hulking horrors are a complex weave of roiling liquid and coffin that are shaping up to be gorgeous sculpts!

The centrepiece of the Collection will be the Scythrian High Priestess, risen once again to lead her kin in the ancient blood sacraments of their lost faith. When developing this design, we sought to echo the design notes of the Ancient Idol from the original release, further expanding the mythos of lost Scythria.

Alongside these designs, we’ve got two additional sets who've gone straight into sculpting. Firstly we’ve got 7 more Risen Scythrians joining the party, finally giving you the chance to properly present these guys as the horde of angry mummies they are!

Plus, we’ve got an epic terrain piece, joining the High Priestess - a Scythrian Blood Altar, this promises to be a gorgeous centrepiece terrain element, from which pours an endless font of blood, and upon which is a host of hieroglyphs depicting the strange faith of this lost Kingdom.
