Hey all. Got a live chat coming up with Erik Dorr this Sunday unless the place where I’m staying has wonky Wi-Fi. If you have any questions, post them in the comments here or via direct message. I’ll be sure to give anything submitted via Patreon priority. Thanks!

Hey JD, how’s the plan to do some video on Audie Murphy coming?

I am not kidding JD, I was planning to ask for more details on the Peffer farm and Erik’s heritage….then you mentioned that you were talking about that. GREAT MINDS…

Also topic suggestions if you have time and the need for more topics (I don’t want to hog time with questions so others’ aren’t answered!) but I will suggest The Fighting McCooks, John Morgan & the John Morgan Raiders (local history for me!) as well as some of the US Army Engineers Corps role in WWI.

I just wanted to say I enjoyed your recent videos that you filmed in Louisville since it is where I live. I remember when they exhumed Zachary Taylor. It was a big deal on all the local news channels. I was wondering if you have ever been to Andersonville in Georgia? I went there maybe ten years ago and it was a very interesting experience. The place just seemed to have a sad feel to it when I was touring it. Very somber experience. I would probably think you get that feeling at a lot the places you visit. Thank you for informative videos.

I second Garry guest starring!

1st question for Erik- He has mentioned in previous videos about how he started collecting artifacts of his own and additionally received artifacts from his family members as well. And I believe he said that the house that is current day the GMOH has always been in the family? I'd love to hear more on his family history with the battle of Gettysburg.. as well as any battle history involving that residence. Especially their experiences during the battle, I've been very interested in the civilian life during & after the battle ever since my recent visit! 2nd question for JD- You've mentioned (I believe it was your grandfather??) before and his military background. I love hearing about personal connections to history. If you don't mind sharing about his service and if you've done any visits during any of your filming trips regarding his service. Thank you both! So excited for this. Talk soon!

Very much looking forward to your content from Gettysburg 160 in July. Hope you get to do some colabs with Garry Adelman. Your videos and content are always amazing. And thank you, Erik, for your contributions to the videos. You two make a great team.

What has been the most difficult adjustment that you had to make due to you increased following?

Thanks for all you do for the history community. What’s one place civil war related that you haven’t been to yet or that you’d like to visit and film?

Hi Guys Here is a WWII question for you. We talk a lot about the souvenirs Vets brought back from Europe and South Pacific. Now the question: How did they manage collecting and carrying all that stuff? Some GIs must have been like Old West chuck wagons marching across Europe?! I know they must have boxed up stuff to send home, but golly, it had to be awkward. A followup: I remember watching the old Combat TV series as a kid. I was always amazed at how often the soldiers stripped off their packs, and were never shown or mentioned how or if they retrieved them. I hope to join you Sunday Mark Mudry
